ED issues summons to Ranbir Kapoor in Mahadev betting app case

On Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a summons notice to actor Ranbir Kapoor regarding the Mahadev betting app case. According to an ANI report cited by sources, Kapoor allegedly carried out promotional activities for the app. On October 6, he is required to appear before the ED’s office in Raipur.

ED officials are attempting to determine the date the actor started advertising the app, the amount of money he earned for these promotions, and the payment method.

The investigators are also seeking information on individuals with whom he came into contact for promotional purposes and to verify if any contracts were signed. The app was promoted by other A-list celebrities and sports personalities, who may be summoned later.

The investigating agency provided details in mid-September that Mahadev Online Book Betting app is an umbrella syndicate that arranges online platforms to allow illegal betting websites to enroll new users, create user IDs, and launder money through a layered web of Benami bank accounts.

The UAE is where Mahadev app founders are operating 4-5 similar apps. It is believed that the apps generate a profit of several crores rupees every day. According to the ED, large-scale Hawala operations are being conducted to divert betting proceeds to offshore accounts.

The shoot began with a Pooja Ceremony in Trivandrum on Wednesday. Lyca Productions, the production company, shared pictures from the sets and revealed Rajinikanth’s refreshing look.

The photo showed Rajinikanth and the film team together during the Pooja Ceremony. He went with a casual shirt and pants. His new hairstyle was the icing on the cake of his look. The fans were thrilled to see him in a terrific and stylish look.

The production house unveiled a poster for Thalaivar 170 earlier today that featured Rajinikanth. Fans were able to see Rajinikanth in the new look, looking handsome in all-black. The poster shows him wearing a black suit, a black shirt, and black sunglasses.

Thalaivar 170, the working title of the film, is directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. The film marks the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth onscreen after 32 years. In addition to them, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Rana Daggubati, and Fahadh Faasil play key roles in the film. Rakshan’s inclusion in the ensemble cast is a treat for the fans.

‘800’ is a biopic based on the life of legendary cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran. Directed by MS Sripathy, the film is hitting the screens on October 6. Presented by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, the Head of Sridevi Movies, the biopic has Madhur Mittal of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame playing the role of Muralidaran. Mahima Nambiar has played the role of Muralidaran’s wife Madhumalar.

Ahead of the movie’s grand release across the world, Madhur Mittal has released a making video of his transformation for ‘800’. The talented actor is seen explaining what he did to transform himself into Muthiah.

Madhur Mittal says that it used to take two to three hours every day to put on the make-up on the sets of the authentic biopic. “From hairstyle to skin tone, director MS Sripathy sir took great care in all aspects. I also have to thank our make-up team for their contributions. They did make-up for two to three hours in a diligent manner,” Madhur says in the video.

Madhur adds that the videos available on the internet were used to capture the detailed look of Muralidaran, his body language and his bowling style. “I saw all the videos of Muralidaran online. Some others were taken from his personal archives. A bowling coach helped me with the nuances. He trained me for a few days. After completing the shoot of a film I was working on, each day, I practiced bowling for two to three hours in my free time,” says Madhur, also explaining that his elbow is a bit like Muralidaran’s because he had an accident a few years ago.

Devara will be released in two parts, marking Tarak’s first two-part film

Following the current trend of sequels and two parts’ films, the makers of ‘Devara’ have chosen to make it in two parts. In a video today, Koratala Siva, the director of the film, announced that it will be distributed in two parts as the film’s canvas is getting bigger, and it needs to be made in two parts.

The movie Devara, which features NTR as the hero, is currently in production. The film’s shooting is already underway. In April 2024, the first installment of Devara will be released in theaters as announced by the makers.

Koratala said, “The film is set in the backdrop of the forgotten lands of coastal India. The canvas is too big. As we started shooting, the film got bigger and bigger. Every character in the film has its own weight, which needs to be explored and established in detail. We can’t justify it in one part. Hence, we decided to tell this story in two parts.”

Bollywood beauty Janhvi Kapoor plays the lead actress in the movie, while Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist against NTR. Hari Krishna K and Mikkilineni Sudhakar are producing this movie under the NTR Arts and Yuva Sudha Arts banners. The film has its music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Devara Part 1 will be released on worldwide screens on 5th April 2024.

Skanda sees a significant drop on its first working day

Boyapati Sreenu and Ram Pothineni’s mass action entertainer Skanda was released on last weekend and received mixed response from the audiences. Being a mass film, Skanda had received somewhat better numbers over the weekend, but the film saw a significant drop on its first working day.

After a very ordinary holiday weekend, the movie completely crashed on the 1st working day by collecting a very negligible share. The 6th day share of the film is less than 50L, which tells that the movie is heading towards a big failure at the box office. For Breakeven the movie has to collect close to another 25Cr share yet and looking at the trend there is no possibility for this to happen, and the buyers are expected to be end up with heavy losses.

The movie’s music was composed by S Thaman. Srinivasaa Chitturi produced Skanda under the banner of Srinivasaa Silver Screen, making it the most expensive movie for Ram. The movie features Sree Leela as the female lead, and Saiee Manjrekar will play a crucial role. The movie presented by ZEE Studios South and Pavan Kumar features Santosh Detake as the cinematographer. Editing is handled by Tammiraju.

Skanda has had a Pan India release on September 28th in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.
