The Tamil Diwali releases, Japan and Jigarthanda Double X have registered disastrous advance bookings in Tamil Nadu and Telugu States. It is widely known that Japan is the landmark film (25th Movie) in Karthi’s career, and Jigarthanda Double X is a big-budget film starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah in the lead roles.
Both films were expected to open big at the box office, but the advances have started on a disastrous note. The promotional content, like songs and promos, did not work for the films, and the pre-festival period might have affected them significantly.
A positive word of mouth is necessary for both films to gain momentum. Both films will have a significantly lower opening in all territories. The makers of Japan and Jigarthanda Double X had applied for the extra show in Tamil Nadu, and the government had permitted them to screen the special shows.
Japan, written and directed by Raju Murugan, is described as a heist comedy film and has been given a U/A certificate by the CBFC.
Japan’s ensemble cast comprises Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, KS Ravikumar, Jithan Ramesh, Bava Chelladurai, and more, in addition to Karthi. Dream Warrior Pictures, a company known for films like Kaithi and Sulthan, provided funding for the movie, and GV Prakash Kumar composed the music. The film is believed to portray Karthi as a thief who has stolen 200 crores worth of jewelry.
Jigarthanda Double X is a follow-up to the 2014 film Jigarthanda, which Karthik Subbaraj directed. According to reports, the film has been provided a U/A Certificate by the CBFC and will run for 2 hours and 52 minutes. Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations, and Ivenio Origin have worked together to produce the film.
The music for the film has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while S Thirunavukkarasu has cranked the camera.
Arya’s web series, The Village is arriving on OTT finally. Directed by Milind Rau, the much-awaited Tamil web series starring Arya will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video on November 24th. An announcement regarding this matter was made by the OTT platform on Thursday, November 9th. This web series was announced, and completed the shoot long back.
The audiences were eagerly waiting for the update on the series’ streaming as this is the first time that Herro Arya is doing a web series. Finally, the update from the OTT giant came through the trailer release.
Arya plays the main character in The Village, a horror web series. The graphic horror novel written by Asvin Srivatsangam, Vivek Rangachari, and Shamik Dasgupta has inspired it.
According to the trailer, The series is about a man who embarks on a chilling rescue mission to save his family.
Milind Rau, Dheeraj Vaidy, and Deepthi Govindarajan, who collaborated as writers and creators, created and produced the web series, which is a Studio Shakthi production.
Apart from Arya, The Village also features an ensemble of cast, including Divya Pillai, Aazhiya, Aadukalam Naren, George Mayan, PN Sunny, Muthukumar K, Kalairaani SS, John Kokken, Pooja, V Jayaprakash, Arjun Chidambaram, and Thalaivasal Vijay.
The Village will be released in Tamil but can be dubbed into Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, with English subtitles from November 24th on Amazon Prime Video.
