Janhvi Kapoor Officially Onboarded for Ram Charan and Suriya’s Big Projects

After NTR’s Devara, Bollywood actress Jahnvi Kapoor will be seen in two more big projects from Telugu and Tamil film industry. The actress is now trying to make her presence felt in the southern industries and her back-to-back signing big projects here is a great start. Boney Kapoor in a latest interview has officially confirmed that Janhvi Kapoor doing so well in her career that she has signed films with Suriya and Ram Charan.

The Suriya project is titled ‘Karna’ and will be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. This Bollywood film will be shot in multiple parts and will have a pan-India release. Janhvi Kapoor is reportedly playing Draupadi’s character. The film will capture a portion of Mahabharata and will feature some of India’s biggest stars. The film’s main plot will be based on the life journey of Karna with Suriya playing this titular role.

Ram Charan’s film is directed by Buchi Babu and it is going on set this summer. The film is said to be planned on a budget of 300 Crores which is massive and the unit plans to make this one of the biggest pan-India films ever. It is a sports-based drama with a village backdrop.

The Bollywood actress has already shot for her Tollywood debut Devara which is a big budget pan-India film opposite NTR. Now she is officially on board for two other big-budget pan-India films much to the delight of her fans.

The game changer shoot started a long time ago, with the initial plan to hit screens in early 2023. Due to the arrival of Indian 2 in the middle, the shooting of the film was impacted significantly. Now that Indian 2 has been completed and more than 70% of Indian 3’s shoot is also finished, the game changer shoot is still progressing.

Ram Charan’s closest circles have stated that the shooting of the film will be completed by November 2023, and Ram Charan will join Buchi Babu’s film from December 2023. Later, the shoot plan was said to be completed by March 2023, and Buchi Babu’s film was scheduled to start from April, with the movie set to release in September. Now, the shoot is said to be completed by May/June, and it may be postponed again. The movie has only one release option this year, which is Christmas.

Currently, a new action schedule has started in RFC. The team is likely to release a teaser on Ram Charan’s birthday. The fans are unhappy with the shoot continuously delaying, which is affecting the release date. Ram Charan has promised continuous film releases after RRR, but no release has happened until now.

Dhanush, Sundeep Kishan, Sun Pictures #D50 Titled Raayan, Ominous First Look Unleashed

Multi-talented superstar Dhanush is directing his 50th movie as an actor. This is the second directorial venture for Dhanush, who plays the lead role alongside Sundeep Kishan. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the project #D50 where Kalidas Jayaram will be seen in another lead role. Today, the makers revealed the title of this Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi trilingual as Raayan.

They also unleashed an ominous first-look poster of Raayan featuring Dhanush, Sundeep Kishan, and Kalidas Jayaram with aprons on. While Dhanush stands in front of a food truck, Sundeep Kishan is inside the vehicle and Kalidas sits on it. They also carry skewers and knives in their hands. We can observe blood marks on the apron of Dhanush. While the dressing indicates they are chefs, the expressions on their faces and the weapons in their hands specify, that they are not just chefs.

Dhanush sports short hair with a handlebar mustache, while Sundeep Kishan and Jayaram sport rugged looks. The first-look poster generates a lot of curiosity among the audience.

SJ Surya, Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, and Dhushara Vijayan play the other important characters in the movie which is going to be high technically with first-class production standards. AR Rehman provides the music, while the camera is handled by Om Prakash. Prasanna GK takes care of editing, while Jacki is the production designer and Peter Hein is the action choreographer.

Siddu Jonnalagadda is an artist who’s been in industry circles for the past fifteen years, working on a series of passable low-profile films. Besides acting, he’s also a screenwriter and editor. Though Praveen Sattaru’s Guntur Talkies (2016) emerged as a sleeper hit, it just didn’t provide him with a breakthrough in his career. In 2022, he co-wrote and starred in the crime comedy film DJ Tillu, which went on to become a commercial success, thus providing him with a ‘break’.

Owing to the film’s result, a direct sequel titled Tillu Square (2024), with Siddu reprising his role, has been in production, which is slated for release next month. Despite delays in production and postponement of release dates multiple times, the film’s carrying good buzz among audiences; the most recent promotional content, the theatrical trailer, was well-received by audiences. Having said that, the production company is enjoying huge business offers, be it from distributors or from digital streaming platforms.

Though the figure remains unknown, it is known that Netflix has bought the film’s streaming rights for a record sum. Coming to theatrical rights, the film is expected to do a business of over 35 crore INR worldwide, which is huge considering its budget. All in all, Tillu Square is a huge opportunity for ‘Starboy’ Siddu to establish himself as TFI’s next big thing.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya crosses 100Cr mark with unanimous disastrous Reviews

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ was released amidst low buzz and mostly unfavourable reviews on 9th February. As per the original reviews, the film should have crashed on day 2 or after 1st weekend. But surprisingly the movie held well on 2nd weekend as well. On 2nd Sunday the movie collected more than 6Cr nett in India which is almost close to 1st day opening numbers which shows the movie’s strong run. 

The Audience’s word of mouth seems to be different from the critics’ reviews. The lack of any other big releases in this duration also added to the film’s collections. The film in 10 days has collected 62Cr nett in India and the worldwide total gross is 108Cr. The movie is likely to go closer to the 150Cr mark as the Hindi trade is expecting the film to have another two-week run.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiyahas emerged as a surprise hit of the year and delivered Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon a long-awaited hit after a bunch of flops. After the blockbuster Kabir Singh in 2019, Shahid Kapoor delivered box-office failure Jersey and OTT flop Bloody Daddy.

Kriti Sanon had a worse run at the box office after she won a National Award for Mimi which was a box-office hit. Post Mimi, she was seen in box office flops like Bacchan Pandey, Hum Do Hamare Do, Shehzada, Do Dooni Chaar, Heropanti 2, and Aadipurush.

Summer has traditionally been the best season for Tollywood as well as Kollywood as the summer will have festival holidays and lead to good theatrical runs for movies and overall good business for exhibitors. After Sankranti, exhibitors eagerly look forward to Suumer as the festival in February and March usually see a slight drop and there’s a dull period. It is from March end to June 1st week, that theatres will have good audiences.

This is the reason big films chose summer mostly for their release. In Telugu, Devara was announced for April while Kalki was announced for May. Dubbed films like Indian 2, and Kanguva and Rajinikanth’s next were also announced for summer. Apart from these, many more medium-budget films have been announced so trade expected this summer will be good for theatres.

But now Devara has officially been postponed and there is no clarity on Indian 2 release date. Even Kanguva has moved to the year-end release. Rumours suggest that Kalki has a high chance of postponing its release. If it is postponed, there will be no big release in Tollywood as well as Kollywood this summer.
