Naga Chaitanya’s Plan to Spoil NTR’s Party

0

Despite delivering multiple hits, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya has yet to make a major commercial breakthrough in a film. Indeed, he has witnessed a brief setback in his career and gone through a period of self-reflection. He has high hopes for Thandel, a project helmed by Chandoo Mondeti and bankrolled by Geetha Arts. With music composed by ‘Rock Star’ Devi Sri Prasad, the film also stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead.

According to the latest buzz, the makers of Thandel are aiming for a grand release of this Dasara, which implies that it’s very likely to clash with NTR’s Devara: Part 1. While this may not look like a big thing since these actors belong to two entirely different leagues, it should be noted that Thandel is no ordinary project; it features a highly-popular actress, an in-form director, and a highly- successful production house.

This is certainly Chaitanya’s best chance to establish himself as a top-league ‘Star’ of Telugu cinema. Considering these aspects, the makers of Devara must be conscious of their film’s promotional content and release plans.

Lokesh Kanagaraj Hints at ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Re-Entry into Films

0

‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s exit from films will be a massive blow for Kollywood’s distributors and exhibitors. He is the biggest film star in Tamil Nadu, and he has consistently proven it time and time again. He will be next seen in Venkat Prabhu’s The Greatest of All Time, followed by DVV Danayya’s production. He has officially labelled the latter as the last film of his acting career.

However, Lokesh Kanagaraj has smartly hinted at Vijay’s re-entry into films after his political entry. In a media interaction, the celebrated Tamil director has made some sensational comments about his future endeavours. Answering a question posed, he stated that a sequel to Leo (2023) will certainly happen, but it’ll take time to materialise. He went on to say that ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s aspirations are somewhere else (politics), and he wished him good luck.

When Vijay announced his last project, fans and moviegoers were highly disappointed, as they wouldn’t get to see him (in future LCU films) face Dilli, Rolex, and Vikram. However, Kanagaraj’s statements gave them all a spark of hope and created a frenzy on the internet.

0

Hari Hara Veera Mallu was announced in 2020 with a budget over 200Cr and a pan-India release. The fans felt so happy as Pawan Kalyan is portraying a periodical warrior role, and these films work so big at the pan-India level. There were no hurdles at the beginning; shooting happened continuously, and the posters and a glimpse raised the expectations for the film, creating a massive impact.

The hurdles started with Corona and continued with various reasons. Recently, Krish started a project with Anushka Shetty under UV Creations. Rumors arose that Krish walked out from the project, and the project may not continue. During this time, the makers of Hari Hara Veera Mallu have given an update that high-end VFX works are happening for the film in multiple locations. They also updated that a promo is coming in a few days. Now the news is that the promo is coming on Shivaratri. This was big news for fans and audiences.

Naa Saami Ranga on Hotstar: Nagarjuna and Keeravani Facing Heavy Criticism

0

To deliver a blockbuster, Nagarjuna chooses Sankranti season and puts massive efforts and money to release Naa Saami Ranga for Sankranti. The movie has released for Sankranti and works on festival days. After the festival weekend crashes hugely. But as the theatrical rights are at just 15Cr, it achieves breakeven in the festival weekend. It’s failed to attract the audiences like Soggade Chinni Nayana and Bangarraju. Most of the audiences did not watch the film in theaters, and waited for OTT release.

The film started streaming on Hotstar from yesterday [17th February] in three languages Telugu, Tamil and kannada.

The movie is receiving huge backlash from OTT audiences. The audiences felt the film is nowhere near to Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana and Bangarraju. Even Nagarjuna receiving the criticism for story selection and the films’s output because of incomplete post Production works. Even though the film has stars like Allari Naresh , Raj tarun no once receiving the appreciations for performances including nagarjuna.

Keeravani is receiving much more criticism for his work. Both songs and RR receiving a huge backlash. The team has promoted the film as a successful combination of Nagarjuna and MM Keeravani. The auidnces felt story is not engaging, and connecting the BGM and songs feels like a much more tedious watch. Nagarjuna delivers a Box office success but did not get a real success like Soggade chinni Nayana for this Sankranti.

Can NTR Silence Haters with Devara?

0

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, better known by his initials N.T.R. or Junior N.T.R., is undoubtedly one of the finest performers of contemporary Indian cinema. Known for his versatility in roles, intense performances, and, of course, outstanding dancing skills, he enjoys a huge fanbase across Telugu states. In spite of all this, he is easily the most trolled or mocked actor of Telugu film franternity; this is particularly significant among hardcore fans on Twitter or movie buffs. The million-dollar question that surfaces in your mind after hearing this is “Why?”. What do they troll him?

Well, that requires you to take a deep dive into his history!

There are three main reasons behind this. First and foremost is NTR’s breakeven jinx! Tarak had to face a long string of box-office disasters, right from Sakhti (2011) to Rabhasa (2014); this was easily the worst phase of his acting career. He made a good comeback with Puri Jagannadh’s action drama film Temper (2015), which was followed by a series of successful films such as Nannaku Prematho, Janatha Garage, Jai Lava Kusa, and Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava. While fans claim all these ventures as ‘Blockbusters’, reality tells a different story.

Not a single film from these so-called ‘Blockbusters’ achieved breakeven in all the territories it was distributed in. Each of these flicks accumulated losses for distributers in at least one territory. So as per the trade standards, they aren’t ‘Hits’. This feels even more saddening considering the fact that all these films received positive reviews upon release; in spite of that, they’ve ended as loss-making ventures. Reason? Despite registering solid opening figures, these films crash on weekdays. Tarak has always had a strong inclination towards high-octane action films, particularly in faction backdrops, right from the beginning of his career, such as Aadi (2002) and Sihmadri (2003). This has unknowingly distanced him from urban or family audiences—those who contribute to a film’s success in the long run.

Secondly, Tarak has worked Jakkanna (S. S. Rajamouli) for a record three times before RRR (2022); despite this, he doesn’t hold a single ‘Industry Hit’ or a 100-crore-share film till date. Additionally, anti-fans claim that all or the majority of his fans belong to a certain social community or a certain political party. He is also mocked for his role, allegedly a less prominent one compared to Ram Charan’s in RRR. And admittedly, Tarak hasn’t got much global recognition for playing ‘Komuram Bheem’.

The final reason is, of course, because of comparisons with ‘Mega’ heroes. Ever since Chiranjeevi emerged as the undisputed No. 1 hero of Tollywood, a rivalry between the ‘Mega’ and Nandamuri families has come into existence. Needless to say, Ram Charan and Tarak are the rivals of the present generation, which makes the comparisons inevitable. Charan, who did just half of Tarak’s films, is miles ahead in terms of box-office potential, stardom, and records. He received widespread critical acclaim for playing ‘Rama Raju’ in RRR.

These are the same reasons why Devara is an extremely special film for every NTR fan; it’s his best chance to prove his mettle and silence haters, to score a ‘Real Hit’, to reach the magical 100-crore-share mark, and the list goes on and on.

Vikram’s Thangalaan postponed the release date again

0

Vikram’s much-awaited historical action drama Thangalaan is on the way to another major delay. The film marks the first collaboration of the versatile actor with P.A.Ranjith. The film will co-star Malavika Mohanan and every single poster and promotional material from the film has managed to evoke great curiosity from film lovers.

It is unclear as to why the makers are holding the release even after the shoot completion long back. The film was initially planned for the 26th January release and next postponed to April. Now the producer has confirmed that the film will be released after the elections. So it means that Thangalaan is moving out of the summer release.

Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and others also play prominent characters in the movie. The film, produced by Neelam Productions and Studio Green, will have the music composed by GV Prakash Kumar

The glimpse teaser has created some good buzz around the film but these continued postponements may affect the film. With the postponement of Thangalan, Kollywood just like Tollywood will have a dry summer period without any big star films.

These are some tough times for buyers as the summer season was always a fruitful one for theaters. Now there are no big films and it will have a huge impact on trade. Already the position of theatre owners is extremely bad in Tamil Nadu with many single-screen theatres shutting down this year.

Allu Arjun Officially Breaks His Promise to Trivikram

0

Allu Arjun – Trivikram is a successful collaboration and the duo has given Julayi, which was a super hit, Son of Satyamurthy, which was a decent success, and Ala Vaikunthapuuramuloo, which became a non-Baahubali industry hit. Last year, Allu Arjun officially announced that he would be collaborating with Trivikram for the next film.

Even after announcing a film with Trivikram, Allu Arjun met multiple directors for collaborations. His team said that the Trivikram project’s pre-production will take around 12-15 months and in this gap, Allu Arjun wants to complete a film. But in reality, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 shooting is still ongoing and will go on till June. And if these schedules get delayed any further then Pushpa 2 may also not be released as scheduled in August month and if schedules are taking more time the movie is likely to be postponed and will be on sets longer than expected.

Whenever Pushpa 2 shooting ends, its pan-India promotions will begin and ideally Trivikram could have completed his pre-production work. But Allu Arjun wants a combo that has a pan-India appeal which is why he is putting the ace director aside and breaking the promise. He has officially stated that he has not confirmed any project so far.

He made this statement at the Berlin Film Festival where answering about his upcoming projects he said nothing has been finalized yet and there are promising projects in development that are expected to be on an epic scale. I am determined to maintain the level of ambition and success achieved with “Pushpa” and aim to uphold that standard in their future endeavors.” This statement could mean only one thing- either the Trivikram project is officially postponed or shelved.
