Rajinikanth Hasn’t Learned From His Mistake!

As we all know, ‘Super Star’ Rajinikanth has appeared in an extended cameo in his elder daughter’s directorial Lal Salaam (2024). Owing to poor promotions and mixed word-of-mouth, the film tanked at the box office. Trade analysts across the country stated their displeasure regarding the legendary actor’s move to risk his stardom by making such guest appearances.

However, it looks like the ‘Super Star’ is not in the mood to listen to all these preachings. He has yet again agreed to do an extended cameo role in Raghava Lawrence’s film. This makes more sense after mentioning the fact that it was directed by his dearest younger daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth. Alongside fans, even netizens are disappointed in Thalaiva’s lavish generosity towards his daughters.

Hope the almighty saves this Raghava Lawarence-starrer from seeing the same fate as Lal Salaam (2024). According to sources, Rajinikanth will appear in a crucial 20-minute-long guest appearance.

Paruchuri Gopala Krishna is an esteemed screenwriter in Telugu cinema, with over 350 films under his name. He is quite popular among netizens for his analysis of contemporary Indian films on YouTube under the brand name ‘Paruchuri Palukulu’ or ‘Paruchuri Paatalu’. While the legendary writer generally stays away from criticism, in recent times he’s been critical of films that don’t please him.

Back in 2020, he angered Mahesh Babu fans for his comments on the Sankranthi release Sarileru Neekevvaru. This time, he has once again made headlines for criticising Super Star’s latest flick, Guntur Kaaram (2024).

While Paruchuri began the episode by heaping praise on ‘Guruji’ Trivikram Srinivas in general, he didn’t take much time to point out the blatant flaws in his latest work. Labelling the script as ‘family subject’, he stated the film’s title, which gives a mass impression, is misleading and incorrect. He went on to say that the writer-director, who was focused on doing fan service, has failed to make the core emotions work. As most critics had said, he too felt the main characters, particularly Sreeleela’s, were poorly written. At the end, he brushed the disappointment off by wishing good luck for the future endeavours of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram.

Sundeep Kishan’s latest film, Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, premiered two days before its official release on February 14th. While reviews were mixed, the film managed to collect over ₹1 crore from paid premiers. However, its full release on February 16th saw an average start in Telugu states, likely due to mixed word-of-mouth.

The film had a strong opening in overseas, especially in North America. On Day 1 (including premiers), it earned a promising $135,000. As per the team, the film earned over ₹1 crore from paid premiers and its official worldwide gross collections are ₹6.03 crores on Day 1.

Ooru Peru Bhairavakona collected a share of 2 crores on day 1 in Telugu states including premiers. Rights are valued at 10 crores and film managed to only recover 20% on its opening day. Total overseas and ROI share is around 60L. Worldwide opening day share is 2.6Cr (Average start).

Film should continue same momentum in North America and A big jump required in Telugu states over the weekend to achieve the breakeven. Directed by Vi Anand and produced by Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments, the film also stars Varsha Bollamma and Kavya Thapar.

Anuskha Shetty’s New Film Titled ‘Seelavathi’

As officially announced, Krish Jagarlamudi has wrapped up most of the shooting part of Pawan Kalyan’s pan-Indian project, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This project faced numerous production delays, with rumours surfacing that Krish, following the creative differences with the team, has left the film midway. However, the team cleared the air with a massive update recently.

Barring the film’s VFX part, which is currently in progress, Krish’s job is almost done. Having said that, the director has reportedly narrated a female-oriented script to Anushka Shetty, and the latter is apparently impressed with it. Though an official announcement has not been made yet, the team kicked off the filming process a few days ago. According to sources, it has been titled ‘Seelavathi’ keeping the film’s social theme in mind.

This marks the second collaboration between the actor and director; they’ve previously worked in the highly-acclaimed hyperlink film Vedam (2010). Anushka Shetty’s performance as Saroja, a prostitute, received immense praise from critics and audiences. Now that she’s joining hands with Krish after 14 long years, the project will generate massive buzz in the trade.

Characters Of Gaami Teaser Unveiled, Theatrical Trailer Of Mass ka das Vishwak Sen, Vidyadhar Kagita, Karthik Sabareesh, V Celluloid’s Film On Feb 29th

The basic idea of presenting Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen in the role of an Aghora who suffers from a rare disease that he cannot experience human touch created inquisitiveness for the upcoming film GAAMI. Directed by Vidyadhar Kagita and produced by Karthik Sabareesh on Karthik Kult Kreations, this adventure drama is funded by the crowd. V Celluloid presents it.

The first look, a making video, and other promotional material garnered a lot of interest. Interim, they came up with a small teaser to introduce the main characters of GAAMI. The video begins with a voiceover telling Vishwak Sen the cure to his problem. M G Abhinaya, Chandini Chowdary, and other important characters are introduced, one after the other. Finally, Vishwak is introduced as an Aghora named Shankar. “Do you think I can overcome all this and achieve the impossible?” says Vishwak. The last visuals show Vishwak and Chandini trekking the Himalayan mountains. The characters of Gaami teaser is very stimulating. The theatrical trailer will be unveiled on February 29th, as announced through the teaser.

Harika Pedada, and Mohammad Samad are the prominent cast. The movie has cinematography by Vishwanath Reddy and Rampy Nandigam, music by Naresh Kumaran, and the screenplay was written by Vidyadhar Kagita and Pratyush Vatyam.GAAMI will hit the screens on March 8th.Cast:- Vishwak Sen, Chandini Chowdary, M G Abhinaya, Harika Pedada and Mohammad Samad.

Devara Release Date Leaves NTR Fans Highly Disappointed

NTR’s much awaited Devara release date was announced officially on 16th February. The film is hitting screens on 10th October for the Dasara festival and this update was shared through a brand new poster from the movie which featured Tarak in a different look from the title announcement poster.

Before its postponement, Devara had locked the best release date of 5th April, 2024. NTR fans were extremely happy with the team’s planning on the release date. But due to pending shoots and VFX works, the movie is now officially postponed to October 10th. Fans are highly disappointed with this new release date.

As this year Dasara falls on Saturday, the movies will have an advantage on 1st weekend which normally stars movies do not require anyway. Everyone wants the festival to fall on weekdays so it will have good numbers on weekdays too. And after Dasara weekend there are no holidays and if it gets average talk, then pulling the movie through weekdays with good numbers might get challenging.

Due to this NTR fans felt highly disappointed with the Devara release date. There was a buzz that if Pushpa 2 gets postponed, Devara will be released on 15th August. This might not be possible because if Pushpa 2 gets postponed, several films from multiple industries are ready to come on that date. Devara is a pan-India film and it needs a solo release.

Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga was the last of the Sankrathi releases to hit the screens. It was released on 14th January amidst positive reports and decent word of mouth enabling it to a decent box office run.

Naa Saami Ranga is a decent comeback film for Nagarjuna after a continuous series of flops. The movie theatricals were valued at 15Cr and it collected close to 18Cr share. The movie was a hit for theatricals but did not bring audiences to theatres in huge numbers like Soggade Chinnni Nayana or Bangarraju did.

The film crashed after festival days. Audience have been waiting for Naa Saami Ranga’s OTT streaming and the day has finally come. The film is now streaming on Disney + Hotstar In Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages.

Naa Saami Ranga is an official remake of the Malayalam flick Porinju Mariam Jose (2019). Directed by Vijay Binny, the film also stars Allari Naresh, Raj Tarun, Ashika Ranganath, Mirna, and Ruksaar Dhillon in key roles with music by ‘Academy Award-winning music composer M. M. Keeravani.

Nagarjuna has been extremely keen on getting his film Naa Saami Ranga to release only for Sankranthi. He did not want to move the film to any other date as he wanted to deliver a blockbuster and felt Sankranthi season would deliver that for sure.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise’s special screening was held at the Berlin Film Festival where the Icon Star attended the event and even spoke to the media about Pushpa and the upcoming sequel. Allu Arjun made a huge revelation about Pushpa 2 and even his plans to expand the franchise to greater levels.

“You can definitely expect Pushpa 3, we do want to make it a franchise & we have exciting ideas for the lineup,” said the star when asked about further development of the film franchise.

When quizzed about his role in the upcoming project, he said, “Pushpa2 is going to have a very different shade of Pushpa Raj than what you’ve seen in Pushpa because it’s the lower end of the spectrum that you’ve seen”.

“In Pushpa The Rule you’ll see the highest end of the spectrum in terms of characterisation. In terms of scale and presentation & the canvas of problems is going to be much bigger,” he added.

Allu Arjun also explained that Pushpa The Rule will have an international backdrop just as everyone has been speculating.

“In Pushpa The Rise, Pushpa Raj assumes de facto control of the syndicate, till then it was playing on regional scale, now it will play on national & international scale. In the first part police officer Bhanwar Singh played by Fahad Fassil, emerges as a thorn in Pushpa Raj’s side, the conflict between them is going to escalate to a much bigger scale in the sequel”.

When asked about his upcoming movie, he said, ““Nothing has been zeroed yet in my upcoming movies but there are interesting projects in the pipeline those will definitely be on a EPIC scale, I don’t want to drop #Pushpa scale at all, I want to hold that ground as much as possible”

You heard it right! ‘Guruji’ Trivikram is very likely to direct ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay in his 69th film, one that marks the end of his acting career.

As we all know, Vijay is currently signed in to make a film with AGS Entertainment, which will be helmed by ace director Venkat Prabhu. Initially titled #Thalapathy68, this sci-fi action drama’s final title was announced as ‘The Greatest Of All Time;. Meenakshi Choudary has been roped in as the female lead, while Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose the film’s songs and background score.

Keeping this aside, Vijay has also officially announced the last project of his career, #Thalapathy69. Notable Telugu producer ‘DVV’ Danayya, who produced the internationally acclaimed film RRR (2022), has bagged the opportunity to bankroll this mega venture. If rumours are to go by, Vijay will be receiving an earth-shattering remuneration of 200 crore INR for this film. Keeping this mammoth investment in mind, Danayya is keen to rope in a celebrated director of Tollywood so the film’s economics can be balanced. According to sources, ‘Guruji’ Trivikram is in talks to helm this project.

It’s clear that, alongside Tamil, Danayya is keenly looking for some strong business in Telugu as well. Roping in a’star’ director would not only make this task simpler but also create enormous hype among cinephiles. This is a massive opportunity for Trivikram, who has never made films outside of Telugu, to show his mettle in Kollywood. An official announcement confirming this collaboration would break the internet, to say the least.

Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood and not too long ago, he was the no.1 hero in the mass belts. But recently with his bad script selection, he has seen some poor results. Salman Khan has delivered two back-to-back unsuccessful movies in the form of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and the much-hyped Tiger 3 and is in search of much-needed success.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was a remake of the Tamil film Veeram starring Ajith and was directed by Farhad Samji. The film was one of the biggest disasters of last year. Post the failure of this film everyone had big hopes for Tiger 3. Despite belonging to the YRF Spy Franchise and Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai being massive hits, Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 couldn’t sustain the hype and received a lukewarm response.

He has realized all the mistakes that have happened due to his script selection and movie choice. He is now being extremely cautious about his next films. And surprisingly he is interested work with Tamil directors to get back to his mass hero image.

The script works of his next project- The Bull is happening right now and it will be directed by Tamil director Vishnu Vardhan and produced by Karan Johar. After this, he is in talks with AR Murugudoss and Atlee for his next projects. It seems that the Bollywood star is not interested in Bollywood directors and scriptwriters and is keen on working with Tamil directors who have a better grip of mass cinema.
