Big Demand for Tamil Directors across Indian cienma

0

The trend of onboarding Tamil directors for massive Bollywood projects is catching up fast. Last year, Atlee made a massive debut with Blockbuster Jawan and delivered a pan-India blockbuster creating massive demand for him in Bollywood and Tollywood. Allu Arjun has set aside a project with Trivikram aside for Atlee. This movie is going on sets after Pushpa 2

Salman Khan who earlier worked with Prabhu Deva has now signed his next two films with Tamil directors- Vishu Vardhan and Murugudoss. Vishnu Vardhan will direct Bull while Murugadoss will direct Salman under Sajid Nadiadwala’s production.

Shankar is already working for Game Changer in Tollywood and after Indian 3 he is likely to collaborate with a big Bollywood star. Nelson Dileepkumar is also getting good offers after Jailer but he wants to finish Jailer 2 first then he will mostly work with a Tollywood or Bollywood big star.

Lokesh Kanagaraj who is the most in-demand Kollywood director has committed projects but many heroes from the entire Indian cinema want to work with him. As per reports, a film with Prabhas in the lineup.

Some time back, Ranveer Singh’s project with Shankar was announced. This was the Bollywood remake of Aparichitudu. Due to several controversies, the film has now taken a backseat and the Bollywood star is in talks with Ranjith (Kavali director) who’s currently working on Thangalaan.

Karthik Subbaraj who made a roaring comeback with Jigarthanda 2 last year is also in talks with several Tollywood stars for a big project. The demand for all big Kollywood directors has significantly gone up and stars and producers from various industries are lining up to sign them.

Targeted Negative Campaign On Gaami: Vishwak Sen Responds

0

Gaami, the most anticipated film in recent times, has had a mixed reception upon release and is performing decently at the box office; it’ll achieve the breakeven mark and enter the profit zone by this weekend. Having said that, the makers of this fanatsy epic must be applauded for the ambitious attempt they’ve made.

However, a targeted negative campaign on Gaami has been executed by an anonymous individual or group; this is evident on the popular booking platform Book My Show. Numerous bots have been created to pull the film’s rating down by posting 1/10 ratings in mass. According to Vishwak Sen, the film’s lead actor, even some genuine 9/10 reviews have suddenly dropped to 1/10 ratings, indicating the existence of a targeted negative campaign. In an official statement, Vishwak thanked the media, critics, and audiences who hailed the film, thus making it a box-office success. He ended the note by stating that ‘appropriate legal measures’ will be taken to address this fake ratings mafia.

This is not the first instance of a film being killed with a deliberate spread of negative talk. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise (2021) has faced the same issue with enormous negativity on social media right from the first day. Most recently, ‘Super Star’ Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram (2024) faced the exact same issue as Gaami: bots engineered to post low ratings in mass thus pulling the overall rating down.

Premalu and Manjummel Boys Delayed OTT Release

0

Malayalam blockbusters Premalu and Manjummel Boys are ruling the roost at the theatres. Recently, the Malayam industry has become the talk of the Indian cinema industry as they delivered 3 continuous blockbusters with Bramayugam being the third one apart from Premalu and Manjummel Boys.

The audience is now waiting for OTT streaming and many expected both films will stream in March. However, it turns out that both films will not be coming on OTT soon. The makers of Premalu and Manjummel Boys want their movies to have a full theatrical run in all languages.

Premalu was released more than a month back in Malayalam and it’s still running with good numbers. The Telugu version of Premalu was released last weekend and it is running well. The Tamil version of the film will be released later this week.

Manjummel Boys is a sensational blockbuster heading towards industry-hit status in Malayalam. The movie is dubbed into Telugu and Hindi languages and a theatrical release has been planned later month. Both films will not have an OTT release like other films with a 28-day theatrical window.

Gopichand’s Bhimaa: 4 Days Worldwide Collections

‘Macho Star’ Gopichand has pinned high hopes on his latest venture, Bhimaa (2024), a fantasy action drama film directed by A. Harsha. With music composed by Ravi Basur, it also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma. The film carried a good buzz before release, which paved the way for decent opening numbers.

After a promising first day, it went on to put in decent numbers on the second and third days as well. While the first Monday saw a drop in collections, it didn’t entirely crash, leaving some hope for the buyers. Bhimaa has minted a worldwide share of INR 6 crore in its four days of theatrical release, and the film has surprisingly outperformed Gaami in all areas since its first Monday.

The film’s breakeven mark stands at a modest INR 12 crore, implying that it needs to post solid numbers in the second week to gain ‘hit’ status. With Gaami underperforming and no other films in competition, Bhimaa is expected to perform decently to emerge as an ‘average’ or ‘above average’ venture for buyers. If it does, it is certainly a revival for Gopichand, who has faced too many setbacks lately.

Vijay Devarakonda’s Family Star Trolled

0

Family Star is a romantic drama film starring Vijay Devarakonda and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. With music composed by Gopi Sundar, this marks the second collaboration between Vijay and director Parasuram after the blockbuster Geetha Govindam (2018). The makers of the film have managed to create a good buzz with their promotional content; the film’s teaser clocked good viewership on YouTube.

However, a recent announcement from the production company has attracted criticism on social media. The film’s second single, titled ‘Kalyani Vacha Vacha’, was released this evening and featured the lead roles in a wedding ceremony. But what made the audience wonder is the lavish setting of the song; the film’s glimpse and teaser have made it clear that Vijay is a newly married man of a strictly middle-class household.

Contrastingly, the song’s promo has showcased the couple’s wedding in a grand setting that would take crores of rupees to pull off, which doesn’t correspond to the film’s premise. For this reason, the film has been the subject of numerous memes and trolls. Family Star is slated for release in April this year in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.

Murugadoss Bounces Back: Planning Two Big Releases in Short Gap

0

AR Murugadoss is one of the biggest directors in Indian cinema and has a market in all languages. Way back in 2008, he made an impact on the national level with the blockbuster Ghajini with Aamir Khan.

But recently with continued failures, he has faced a big setback in his career. After Rajinikanth’s Darbar, he took a lot of time to start his next film and started a project with Siva Karthikeyan.

And now, he has announced a project with Bollywood star Salman Khan. Sajid Nadiadwala will produce this project and the announcement has created massive hype on social media. Of late, Salman Khan has also been showing great interest in collaborating with southern directors as he feels they can capture his mass angle better than anyone from the north. This will be Murugadoss’ 4th Hindi film after Ghajini, Holiday (Thuppakki remake), and Akira.

Murugadoss is planning to finish the shoot as soon as possible as he has other commitments and is planning to shoot both projects Salman and Siva Karthikeyan films simultaneously. Salman Khan’s film was announced for Eid 2025 release while Siva Karthikeyan’s film is aiming for a Diwali 2024 release. With two big releases in a very short span, Murugadoss would be looking to score big hits with both films to get back to his golden form.

Thaman Increases the Frustration of Mahesh Babu Fans

0

Mahesh Babu fans put very high expectations on Guntur Kaaram as it was the combination with Trivikram. The movie faces many hurdles in shooting and releases on Sankranti. The movie did not satisfy the fans, and the fans are frustrated as the team did not even complete the post-production works completely. There are sound mixing issues, many times there is no lip sync.

With Sankranti holidays and the combination power, the movie managed to post decent numbers at the box office, but fans are absolutely frustrated with the output. The team started shooting long back but completed the entire shooting in just 4 months, all other time they stopped the shooting with hurdles.

With this frustration, Thaman is increasing a bit again he recently released the mother song bit the fans are really frustrated after listening to this as it was not there in the movie. The song is so emotional. Now Thaman is releasing one more song

The fans did not have any clue what they did in editing, If this song is so good then team again faces backlash and fans will be more frustrated.

Naga Shaurya follows Nani’s strategy.

Naga Shaurya follows Nani’s strategy.

There is much competition in the film industry as of now. While new directors are trying hard to get a project, heroes are busy making movies that they agreed to before lockdown. But those directors who got the chance to make movies with heroes are flopping as directors, and that movie is failing at the box office.

And normally, a flop combination takes a lot of time to collaborate, or they won’t collaborate in life either. But there is a saying that a director whose movie got flopped may get back on track with the next movie.

NTR did the same with Koratala Shiva. Koratala Shiva’s last movie, Acharya was a disaster at the box office, but NTR agreed to do Devara Part 1 and 2 with him, and shooting is in progress.

Also recently, Vivek Athreya and Nani collaborated immediately for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram after the failure of Ante Sundaraniki. Nani believed in Vivek Athreya and agreed to the Saripodhaa Sanivaram film.

Though the Title Glimpse is Good, Teaser didn’t create much impact or buzz for the movie. But now Naga Shaurya is following in the footsteps of NTR and Nani. So now Naga Shaurya follows Nani’s strategy.

After the failure of Rangabali, Naga Shaurya is doing the same with Rangabali director Pawan. Pawan started working on a script to do a movie again with Naga Shaurya, and he wants to deliver a bit of film now. Naga Shaurya impresses, and they both are collaborating on another movie.

Naga Shaurya had good movies in his career, like Oohalu Gusagusalade and Chalo, but most of his movies remain failures at the box office. Now he is doing 3 movies: Police Vari Hecharika, #NS24, which is not yet titled, and Nari Nari Naduma Murari.

RRR on the Oscars stage again

RRR on the Oscars stage again

RRR got a huge response not only from India but also from world movie lovers. RRR also won an Oscar for Naatu Naatu under the best song category and got pride for Indian cinema.

Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and NTR have a good fanbase all over the world. Now RRR director Rajamouli is making a film with Mahesh Babu, and it is said that some of the Hollywood actors are also cast in this movie.

So now the Oscars stage surprises audiences by showing RRR on the stage again. The Academy included RRR Movies action sequences as part of their tribute to the world’s greatest stunt sequences in cinema and surprised fans.

The Academy displayed some of the crucial action sequences from many world movies and also gave place to the RRR movie, taking into consideration the World’s Greatest Stunt Sequences.

As we all know, the audience has gone mad for the Naatu Naatu song and Interval and Climax action sequences on movie screenings. Through this, we can say that the world is looking at Indian movies, and we have to admit that it’s a huge pride for us.

Vishwak Sen’s Gaami: Not a Blockbuster

Vishwak Sen’s epic action adventure film Gaami (2024) has been the most talked-about Telugu film in recent times. Expectedly, the film performed well on US premieres and advance bookings and posted a solid figure on release day. The film attracted unanimously positive reviews from critics, with buyers expecting bigger numbers on Days 2 and 3.

However, that didn’t happen; the film’s footfalls have descended day by day, and on the first weekday (Monday), a significant drop was witnessed in collections. This trend can be attributed to the mixed reception from the audiences; while critics lavished praise on the film upon release, the word-of-mouth has been mixed-to-negative, and the film’s box-office performance is a reflection of that.

Krishna Vamshi’s Rangamarthanda (2023) is a classic example of this trend; the film received rave reviews upon release with enormous praise for Brahmanadam’s performance; however, the film bombed on the first day itself and emerged as a big disaster. Gaami has once again proved that it’s the reception from the audience or word-of-mouth that matters, not anything else.

Despite all this, Gaami will achieve the breakeven mark this week and end up being a profitable venture for buyers. But it’s just a ‘hit’ and not a ‘blockbuster’.
