Kalki 2898 AD: Day 1 Box office estimates

Kalki 2898 AD’s advance bookings have opened in all territories and it is certain that it will be off to an extraordinary start. In Telugu states, the bookings are terrific. Just from Telangana more than 35Cr gross is expected and from Andhra Pradesh, a 40 Cr gross is expected on Day 1. The combined Telugu state opening figure is projected to be a massive Rs 75 crores.

In Karnataka, the film is expected to open with 10 Cr + figures while Kerala and Tamil Nadu combined are expected to open with 8 Cr range gross. North India, which is one of the most crucial territories for Kalki 2898 AD is expected to give an opening of around Rs 25 Cr gross. 

Overall, a Rs 115 Cr gross range is expected from all over India while another Rs 60 crores Day 1 collection is projected from the overseas market. Overall, this Nag Aswhin sci-fi project is expected to open in the range of 175 Cr – 180 Cr.

If word of mouth is positive from early shows, then the opening will definitely be much bigger. The opening is likely to be amongst the all-time top 3 in Indian cinema after SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Baahubali 2.

Ashika Ranganath, the Kannada beauty is having her good time. The actress has managed to grab promising opportunities recently. She was cast as the leading heroine in Naa Saami Rangaa recently opposite Nagarjuna. The actress also managed to grab a role in Vishwambhara starring Chiranjeevi. Now, its seems Ashika Ranganath has grabbed a Pan India biggie.

Ashika Ranganath is said to be a part of Sardaar 2, a sequel of Sardaar starring Karthi and Raashi Khanna. Sardaar became a big hit for Karthi grossing more than 100 crores worldwide, also making it his highest one. Now, the sequel is planned as a Pan Indian biggie. A reputed actor is also being considered for the antagonist role in the film. Set work for the film is going on and shoot will also happen soon.

Sardaar was directed by PS Mithran who rose to fame with his earlier films, Irumbu Thirai starring Vishal and Hero starring Siva Karthikeyan. This will be his fourth film. The director was also speculated of collaborating with Telugu Actor Chiranjeevi but no progress was made afterwards. It needs to be seen how he directs the sequel and if all goes well the film can easily gross more than 100 crores worlwide again.

Kalki 2898 AD, recent starrer of Prabhas is all set for release this June 27th. The film’s release has been planned in a big manner and the openings too have started on a strong note. Recently a delegation of Producers met Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister cum Actor, Pawan Kalyan to discuss a hike in ticket prices for Kalki 2898 AD. The hike in Andhra Pradesh > Telangana after the permission granted.

The hike for Kalki 2898 AD in Nizam region and AP for the single screens are the same fixed at 75 rupees more. But in Multiplexes, Nizam has got a 100 rupees hike when compared to 125 rupees for AP Multiplexes. For the last few years, the hike in AP was only granted for 40 and 50 rupees but now we can see a 75 and 125 rupees of hike. With this, the revenue will be bigger from AP than Telangana.

On the other hand, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to open with a record numbers. The film also has chances of touching the 200 crores gross mark worldwide. Only Rajamouli’s directorial Baahubali and RRR made this happen. The film has to gross more than 800 crores worldwide to become a hit.

Kartikeya and Iswarya Menon starrer Bhaje Vaayu Vegam was released last month to decent talk and special appreciation for its thrilling screenplay. The film, however, couldn’t manage to sustain its momentum and competition with Vishwak Sen’s Gangs of Godavari and Anand Deverakonda’s Gam Gam Ganesha and ended up a box office failure.

Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is now making its way to OTT very soon. The action entertainer will stream on Netflix from June 28th. The streaming giant made an official announcement regarding the same.

Directed by Prashanth Reddy, Bhaje Vaayu Vegam follows the lives of Venkat (Karthikeya) and Raju (Rahul Tyson) move to the city in search of a better life. While Venkat is an aspiring cricketer, his brother Raju aims to get a job and settle in life. Their lives take a dramatic turn and they get entangled in the world of crime.

Sree Vishnu > Vishwak Sen?

The all-India rights of Vishwak Sen’s next ‘Mechanic Rocky’ and Sree Vishnu’s ‘Swag’ have been bought by Asian Suresh Entertainments. Surprisingly Sree Vishnu’s Swag rights have been acquired for 10% higher than Vishwak Sen’s Mechanic Rocky.

Both the actors need a big blockbuster like a 50 Cr grosser film. Recently, both have seen decent successes but did not have massive blockbusters. Compared to Sree Vishnu, Vishwak Sen’s films are opening well but the issue with Vishwak Sen films is that they are struggling to work on weekdays after 1st weekend.

Sree Vishnu last delivered a hit in the form of Samajavaragamana in 2023 while his last film Om Bheem Bush was a box office failure. On the other hand, Vishwak Sen’s Gaami and Gangs of Godavari received decent success but fell short of being a major hit. With both the heroes making a move toward commercial entertainers, it would be interesting to see if they can score a much elusive major hit.

Tamil Director, Atlee who almost confirmed his next film with Allu Arjun has dropped the plan. The remuneration and budget were quoted as major reasons for this break away. But now it seems the film is on but with a different cast. There is also news of making this as a Salman Khan and Rajinikanth multi-starrer. This is a sensational for both fans and audiences of these stars.

Atlee achieved big success directing Jawaan starring Shah Rukh Khan last year. The film became a box office blockbsuter grossing more than 900 crores worldwide. The film also helped Shah Rukh Khan restore his stardom along with Pathaan. The director then made plans of roping in Allu Arjun for his next who was riding high with the success of Pushpa: The Rise. The film was also tentatively titled #AAA but didn’t materialise due to above mentioned reasons.

Atlee is in plans of bringing another bollywood Superstar, Salman Khan and Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth together as a multi-starrer for his next. There is no information regarding who will be producing the film. The film, if takes place would become the biggest collaboration in Indian film History. Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan is directed by Maverick Director, Shankar. The film as known is an official sequel to yesteryear blockbuster, Indian. The film has completed its shoot and is all set for release next month i.e., July 12th. The songs of the film have already released and made a good impact as well. The trailer of the film is also locked and will be released tomorrow. Along with this, Indian 2’s runtime and story plot details are as follows:

Indian 2 also releasing as Bharateeyudu 2 in Telugu, is said to begin with Siddarth’s fight against the corruption and Senapathy, Kamal Haasan’s character will return from Hong Kong to India to fight against corruption and injustice during the interval part. The film is said to be having a runtime of 175 minutes, i.e., 2 hours and 55 minutes. So, this will be a long duration film just short of 3 hours.

A grand event is planned tomorrow for the unveiling of the trailer in all Indian languages in Mumbai. The film will also be releasing as Hindustani 2 in Hindi. The film will also be followed with one more part, already titled, Indian 3. Indian 3 will have the same cast and may release next year.

Kalki 2898 AD, the much awaited film of Tollywood is releasing this June 27th. Advance bookings for the film have already opened and started on a great note as well. The film stars Prabhas in the lead role alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan playing pivotal roles. Now all the eyes are on other language audiences. It also arises a question, Will Amitabh Bachchan & Kamal Haasan bring in their respective languages audiences to the theatres?

Both the actors look amazing in the film and raised the expectations of the film further. The film needs to perform well in the other Indian languages too. For Hindi, there are Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan and for tamil there is Kamal Haasan. It needs to be seen if these language audiences would come on the opening day or wait for the talk to come out. If the film secures a unanimous positive talk, then expect a big weekend from other languages audiences too.
