As predicted by the trade experts, Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has taken an earth-shattering opening at the box office on day one. It opens with 170 Cr range Worldwide on opening day according to track Tollywood and as well as other trade experts. Producers officially announced that film has collected 191 gross on opening day. Kalki 2898 AD released yesterday and is already breaking records. The film stars Prabhas in the lead role alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. The film carried great hype before the release which was proven on the ticketing platform, Book My Show. Kalki 2898 AD has sold 11.12 Lakhs tickets on the opening day on Book My Show which is an all time record.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawaan holds the second biggest record with 10.9 Lakhs tickets. Prabhas’ previous outing, Salaar sold 9.26 Lakh tickets on Book My Show as well. Kalki 2898 AD was able to get massive bookings from Hindi, Tamil and Kerala languages which also helped the film create an all time record with massive openings from Telugu language.

All eyes are on the film’s performance in the weekend. Kalki 2898 AD has already grossed close to 170 crores worldwide. Day 2 performance is also expected to be in the same range. If all goes well, the film may easily get 500 crores gross worldwide after the weekend which would be sensational. Another good weekend will make the film touch the coveted 1000 crores gross mark. Prabhas’ highest remains to be Salaar apart from Baahubali which grossed close to 600 crores worldwide. Now, Kalki 2898 AD may occupy that place.

Double Ismart – First Single Release Details!

After the debacle of Skanda (2023), Ram Pothineni aims to make a strong comeback with Puri Jagannadh’s Double Ismart. A sequel to the blockbuster Ismart Shankar (2019), it features Kavya Thapar as the female lead.

It is slated for a grand worldwide release on August 15, 2024. As a part of promotions, the first single from this mass actioner is gearing for release. Titled ‘Steppamaar’, a lyrical video of the song is set for release on July 1, 2024.

Mani Sharma, who composed the tunes for the first installation, has been roped in to work for Double Ismart. Featuring Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist, it is touted as a pan-Indian venture with simultaneous release across five languages of the country. Puri is co-producing this film with his usual collaborator, Chaarmee Kaur.

The newly formed Government of Andhra Pradesh conducted a commemoration meeting for Media baron, Ramoji Rao who had passed away recently. Many celebrities from Tollywood attended the event and Noted Music Director, MM Keeravaani was one among them. Shockingly, Keeravaani made a political statement against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former CM of Andhra Pradesh.

Keeravaani while speaking at the event felt that Ramoji Rao played a decisive role against YS Jagan and his government which lost recently. He opined that the media baron freed people from iron arms of Jagan’s Government. This statement has shocked everyone as this way a direct attack on YS Jagan and his party as well. This was truly shocking and unfortunate to expect from a dignified celebrity.

Many people even started trolling Keeravaani for taking political sides. They also mocked him of not being eligible for receiving the Oscar Award which he did recently. Tollywood Actor, Pawan Kalyan also remains the main reason for such political statements and political orientation of these celebrities. Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas has opened to a phenomenal response yesterday. The film was made on a big scale and also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. Audiences felt the film was a spectacular watch given its VFX content and theme. Now, Kalki 2898 AD 1st day all versions worldwide Box Office collections are as follows:

In Telugu states, the film opened around to 65 crores gross. Tamil Nadu gross stands at 5.75 crores, Karnataka made a 10.5 crores gross and Kerala did close to 2.8 crores gross. North India gross is reported to be around 26 crores. This would take the total to 110 crores gross nationwide. In the overseas market, the film opened to 60 crores gross. The total worldwide gross is close to 170 crores. This is a phenomenal performance and also the third biggest opening for a film in Indian cinema.

Kalki 2898 AD before release had a big task but it seems with this performance it is going to be easy. The film has to gross a minimum of 800 crores worldwide to become a hit. If all goes well, Kalki 2898 AD may even touch the 1000 crore mark worldwide.

Kalki 2898 AD’s main starcast features some of the biggest names of Indian cinema. Legendary stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan along with 2 of the biggest contemporary stars like Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are enough to post houseful boards all over.

Along with this, Nag Ashwin chose to include several actors in small roles in the film. Several of these cameos are from Nag Ashwin’s past collaborations. There are many cameos but nothing created the impact. Even the audience felt the cameos did negative for the film by deviating from the content.

Mrunal Thakur, Anudeep, Faria Abdullah, RGV, and Rajamouli cameos were unnecessary and not related to the movie content. Disha Patani, Dulquer Salmaan, and Vijay Deverkonda roles were in sync with the story but couldn’t create the necessary impact.

Vijay Deverakonda’s cameo in particular faced huge criticism and trolls. The audience was not happy with his look and dialogue delivery. Many felt that he is not cut out for mythological roles.

Kalki 2898 AD opened yesterday to positive reviews and great word of mouth. The Day 1 collections are massive in domestic as well as overseas markets. The overseas market is undoubtedly the best performer for Kalki 2898 AD.

In North America, this Nag Ashwin magnum opus has become just the 2nd film to open with $5 Million figures. In the UK and Germany, the film witnessed record openings. Even the UAE, and Australian markets were quite beneficial for the makers and the film opened with huge numbers.

Overall, Kalki 2898a AD opened with Rs 60 Cr+ start in the overseas market and it is expected to do $15M just in North America at this moment. If other languages pick up for the weekend, then weekend numbers will be massive. If everything goes well, the film will collect $25M overseas which means 200 Cr in full run.

Kalki 2898 AD takes an excellent opening in Nizam, especially in Hyderabad, where it has a record opening. but in districts, the numbers are lower than Salaar. With this, it opens with the Top 3 in Nizam after RRR and Salaar with 19.5 Cr share including GST.

In Andhra Pradesh, ticket rates, Thursday release, and no hires affected a bit in openings, but the numbers are still good. In the rest of India, all states in the Telugu version did exceptionally well and posted bigger numbers.
