0

Prabhas and Maruthi’s horror comedy The Raja Saab is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on 9 January 2026. The film has already completed its censor formalities well in advance, and a pre-release event is planned for this weekend.

The Raja Saab team’s decision to finish censor work more than two weeks before release is being appreciated. The movie has received a U/A certificate with a runtime of 186 minutes, making it a little over three hours long. Interestingly, the second half runs for 103 minutes, which is longer than the first half’s 83 minutes.

As mentioned, the makers are preparing for a big pre-release event. However, due to permission issues, discussions are still ongoing. Official details about the event and the trailer are expected to be announced soon.

0

Actress Nidhhi Agerwal faced an unexpected and uncomfortable experience with the fan mob during the second single launch of Prabhas’s The Raja Saab, but the actress refuses to file a complaint regarding the incident.

The actress had visited the Cinepolis Lulu Mall in Hyderabad for the song launch event of her upcoming film, The Raja Saab. During the event, some fans behaved indecently and inappropriately towards her. Even after the program ended, while she was leaving the venue, certain fans caused further inconvenience and trouble to the actress.

But Nidhhi Agerwal has declined to file a personal complaint regarding the incident at Lulu Mall. Meanwhile, the police have already registered a case against Lulu Mall management and Shreyas Media in connection with the incident.

Tollywood Erupts: Female Members File Complaints Against Shivaji, and he releases an apology

0

The controversy surrounding actor Shivaji’s comments on heroines’ dressing during the Dhandoraa pre-release event has escalated significantly, and the actor reacted with an apology. What began as backlash from netizens and a few film personalities has now drawn a strong response from a collective called Voice of Women – TFI, representing over 100 women professionals in the Telugu Film Industry.

In a formal email sent to the President of the Movie Artists Association, the group condemned Shivaji’s remarks as misogynistic, regressive, and insulting to women’s dignity. They pointed out that his language, including slurs and moral policing, not only disrespects women but could also violate legal provisions under BNS Section 509, which deals with insulting the modesty of women.

The letter demands a public and unconditional apology from Shivaji for his comments and urges the Movie Artists Association to take accountability. It also proposes four key measures to prevent such incidents in the future

But before things go further, actor Shivaji responded with an apology video, in which he expressed deep regret for his remarks. He said that his intentions are not bad, but a few words that he used were not right. He said that he always treats women as goddesses, and he felt bad that a few incidents happened to actresses in the recent past.

One Comment, Lifetime Damage: Shivaji’s Biggest Mistake

0

Actor Shivaji earned praise earlier this year for his performance in the #90s biopic web series and the film Court: The State Vs Nobody. His role as Managapathy in Court marked a strong comeback, bringing him several new film offers.

However, one unnecessary statement about heroines and their dressing during the pre-release event of Dhandhoraa has now damaged his reputation. Singer Chinmayi and anchor-actress Anasuya strongly reacted to his regressive comments, calling them disrespectful.

This incident shows how just one character can elevate an actor’s career, while one careless statement can spoil it. Actor Shivaji’s disrespectful words have not only cost him film offers but also tarnished the personality he built over the years. He now faces a situation where he may have to remain apologetic for a long time.

Parasakthi Telugu Release Postponed

0

Originally scheduled for 14 January 2026, Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited film Parasakthi will now release on 10 January 2026 in Tamil. The makers decided to prepone the release to avoid direct clashes with other big Pongal films. However, the Telugu version will not release on the same date, as Sankranthi is already packed with multiple Telugu films.

Given the crowded festival window, the Parasakthi team has postponed the Telugu release to the Republic Day weekend, a strategic move to ensure better theatre availability and audience reach. The makers are confident about the film’s performance, especially since Sivakarthikeyan is a familiar face in Telugu states.

This decision is seen as practical because even with positive word of mouth, a Tamil dubbed film would struggle to find space among so many Telugu straight releases during Sankranthi.

Parasakthi Cast and Crew

Set against the backdrop of 1960s Tamil Nadu, the film also has Atharvaa Murali, Jayam Ravi (Ravi Mohan), Sreeleela, Rana Daggubati, Basil Joseph, Guru Somasundaram, Papri Ghosh, and Prithvi Rajan playing crucial roles. Parasakthi is directed by Sudha Kongara, best known for her critically acclaimed film Soorarai Pottru. The film is produced by Aakash Baskaran under Dawn Pictures.

Demon Pavan and Rithu Chowdhary, contestants of Bigg Boss 9 Telugu, were among the most talked-about pairs of the season. Their close bond often became a highlight of the show, sometimes drawing mixed reactions from viewers. While a few found their track irritating at times, overall it played a big role in the season’s success.

The duo has never given clarity about their relationship, saying only that it is “more than friendship.” However, many fans believe they are in love and are curious to see how things unfold.

Now, the latest news is that Pavan and Rithu will be back together for a dance reality show. Agreements have already been signed, and they are set to enter BB Jodi Season 2 as wild card contestants when the show begins this weekend.

The BB Jodi team is also reportedly trying to bring in other popular Bigg Boss 9 contestants like Kalyan, Tanuja, Ayesha, and Emanuel as wild cards, though it remains to be seen whether they will agree to join.

Dhurandhar Enters Elite Club: 1 Crore Tickets Sold on BookMyShow

0

The sensational blockbuster Dhurandhar has crossed a massive milestone by selling 1 crore tickets on BookMyShow, an achievement that only a very few Indian films have managed to accomplish. It is emerging as a phenomenon in Hindi cinema’s history.

Pushpa 2 (20.41M), KGF 2 (17.10M), Baahubali 2 (16M), Kantara: Chapter 1 (14.10M), RRR (13.40M), Kalki 2898 AD (13.14M), Chhaava (12.59M), Jawan (12.40M), and Stree 2 (11.16M) are the previous blockbusters that joined this elite club. With 10M+ million tickets sold in 18 days, Dhurandhar now proudly stands among the biggest crowd-pullers in Indian cinema by crossing a new milestone.

The film is expected to even go near 15M tickets in its full run, as it is expected to have a superb run for the next 3-4 weeks at least. Let us see where the film ends its theatrical run.

No 2 Billion USD This Time: Avatar Fire and Ash Box Office Reality

0

The box office run of Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to be underwhelming, as the film has failed to meet expectations. Based on current trends, it appears almost certain that the movie will not reach the $2 billion mark, a milestone achieved by the first two parts of the Avatar franchise.

The original Avatar was a global sensation, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time with collections of over $2.9 billion, including its re-release. Avatar: The Way of Water, though not as strong in word of mouth as the first film, still delivered massive numbers, earning more than $2.3 billion and finishing as the third biggest global grosser, after Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.

In contrast, Avatar: Fire and Ash is unlikely to reach those heights because of its underwhelming run. Trade experts estimate its full run may end around $1.6 billion, which is roughly 70% of what Part 2 achieved.

With each installment showing a decline in collections, it remains to be seen what decisions the makers will take for the next part of the franchise.

Big Challenges For Jana Nayagan

0

Jana Nayagan is a very crucial film for Vijay, as he has announced it will be his last movie before retiring to focus on politics. Fans are hoping the film will become a sensational blockbuster and rewrite box office records.

The movie is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, but the makers have largely ignored the Hindi market. In Telugu states, the film is struggling to generate buzz due to multiple big local releases and ongoing talk that it is a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari.

Because of this, the film’s prospects are now mainly limited to the Tamil market. Initially, Jana Nayagan was expected to enjoy a massive release in Tamil Nadu, but the sudden rescheduling of Parasakthi from January 14 to January 10 has created a major challenge. From the second day of release, Jana Nayagan is already losing screens, with the theatre ratio between Jana Nayagan and Parasakthi in Tamil Nadu reported to be 55:45.

With all these hurdles, Jana Nayagan, the crucial film of Vijay, will need strong word of mouth to achieve breakeven and deliver the business numbers expected by the producers.

Peddi Locks Table Profits

0

In recent times, even films with big star combinations have struggled to make table profits due to the decline in OTT, satellite, and theatrical markets. Most projects now rely heavily on strong box office numbers to achieve breakeven. However, Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi is said to be achieving table profits for producers even before release, without depending entirely on box office performance.

The film’s final budget is reportedly around ₹300 crore, which is considered reasonable for a star-driven project. Nearly half of this amount has already been recovered through OTT and audio rights. In any scenario, the Telugu business alone is expected to cross ₹150 crore, ensuring that the entire budget is covered. This leaves the collections from other languages as surplus, giving the producers of Peddi a chance to earn huge profits, especially if the film receives positive word of mouth.

Unlike typical big-budget spectacles, Peddi is not built on grandeur or heavy visuals. Instead, it is rooted in village-based elements, with director Buchi Babu ensuring extensive pre-planning before shooting. This careful approach has kept the budget under control while still positioning the film for massive success across markets.
