“I have learnt that some of the political themes that have emerged in the movie L2: Empuraan, the second part of the Lucifer franchise, have caused a lot of disappointment to many of my fans. As an artist, it is my duty to ensure that none of my movies harbours hatred towards any political movement, idea or religion,” Mohanlal wrote in his post.

Therefore, I and the Empuraan team sincerely regret the mental pain caused to my loved ones, and with the realisation that the responsibility lies with all of us who worked behind the film, we have decided together to compulsorily remove such parts from the movie,” he added.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Costly Mistake

0

AR Murugadoss is one of the top directors of Indian cinema and enjoyed stardom a few years back, but with continuous failures, he is struggling to get back on track. Sikandar, his latest Bollywood film, opened to disastrous reviews, and his next film is Madharasi in Tamil starring Sivakarthikeyan, which looks like a costly mistake from the actor.

After Darbar’s failure, Muruga struggled to lock a film, and finally, Sivakarthikeyan agreed to do a film, and the shoot was also started, and it was completed by 80%. At that time, Murugaoss got an opportunity to work with Salman Khan, and Siva Karthikeyan allowed Muruga to work for Sikandar.

Salman – Murugadoss’ Sikandar Opens to Disastrous Reviews

Today, Salman’s Sikandar has been released, and it opens with unanimous disastrous reviews, and people are calling AR Murugadoss done as a director. Now Siva Karthikeyan’s Madharasi will be affected massively with this result.

The film’s craze and business will be impacted by Sikandar’s failure, and even audiences’ excitement towards Madharasi will come down. Now, many netizens are saying that Sivakarthikeyan made a costly mistake by allowing Murugadoss to work for another film.

Sivakarthikeyan did a mistake by allowing Murugadoss to work for another film

If Siva Karthikeyan did not allow Murugadoss to work for Sikandar, then his film, Madharasi, could have been released in Sikandar’s place with some good craze. But now, the terrible response for Sikandar will lessen the hype for Madharasi.

The same mistake was made by Ram Charan, as he allowed Shankar to work for Indian 2 while Game Changer’s shooting was going on. We have seen how Indian 2’s result impacted Game Changer’s craze.

Now, the same mistake has been repeated by Sivakarthikeyan, and he will certainly regret his decision, but we need to wait and see how he will finally overcome this.

L2: Empuraan creates history in just 3 days

0

L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal released amid great hype and expectations. The film, however, received mixed reviews and response from the audiences. This didn’t impact the prospects of the film in Malayalam version and the film put great numbers at the box office. But its performance is not good in other languages.

On the Day 1, the film collected nearly 67 crores worldwide. On Day 2, it has collected 35 crores. In India, the Day 3 collections are higher than the opening day and in the overseas market, it has been trending well. The total 3 days worldwide gross is expected to be in the range of 135 crores.

In 3 days, the film has become the highest-grosser of Mollywood in the overseas market. It is also set to rake in $10M in the overseas market becoming the first Malayalam film to do so. Interestingly, the film has surpassed the final collections of its prequel, Luficer.

MAD Square Day 2 collections: Strong hold

0

MAD Square opened with unanimous positive response on its release day. The film also registered big number theatrically grossing 18.5 crores. The film also held super strong on Day 2 and the early estimates are around 12 crores gross. With this, MAD Square collected 30 crores gross in 2 days. For breakeven, the film has to collect 50 crores gross and this is expected to happen by Monday.

Day 3 and Day 4 have the advantages of Ugadi and Ramzan festivals which will be the biggest days for the film at the box office. Telugu Audiences preference has also become MAD Square for the weekend undoubtedly. Achieving the 100 crore mark by the film depends on how well the film holds after the Monday.

MAD Square has competition with other films like L2: Empuraan, Robinhood and Veera Dheera Sooran. But, these films haven’t received good reviews in the Telugu Version. There are also no notable releases in the coming weeks and the film may have a long run till the Summer season.

Veera Dheera Sooran struggles despite having good content

0

Veera Dheera Sooran starring Vikram was all geared up for release on 27th March worldwide but faced financial hurdles before the release. The film, as a result, had its morning and matinee shows cancelled. The release happened only with the evening shows, but still, it received unanimous positive reviews. However, the collections are not as expected.

On Day 1, Veera Dheera Sooran opened with only 2.5 crores and Day 2 collected in the range of 4 crores. The Day 3 estimates are in the range of 6-7 crores. So far, for 3 days, the gross of Tamil Nadu is in the range of 13 crores. Interestingly, Vikram’s last venture, Thangalaan opened with around 13 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Veera Dheera Sooran had to struggle for 2-3 days to match this number.

In the Telugu version, the film has been a washout and not added good numbers in any territory. The film faced issues with the non-theatrical rights and the business was not closed yet. Theatrically, the film has to collect more than 100 crores for a decent success. But, as per the estimates, the film must take a big jump. The next 2 days are holidays with Sunday and Ramzan. The film must put great numbers on these 2 days.

Sardaar 2: Music Director replaced

0

Sardaar starring Karthi released in 2022 became a big hit for the Actor. The film also performed well in the Telugu language. The film also had a strong lead for the 2nd part, and the sequel’s shoot commenced recently. The team has also planned to release the film this Diwali. Now, the film is set to witness the change in its Music department.

Initially, Yuvan Shankar Raja came on board as the Music Director who will now be replaced by Sam C.S. The reason for this is yet to be known. The team has also locked a Teaser to reveal various details about the film. The Teaser has also been censored with 2 minutes and 54 seconds. It is also expected to come out soon.

Karthi is also busy with his other films. Recently, his other sequel, Kaithi 2 has been announced officially. The film’s shoot will also begin this year. There are high expectations for Kaithi 2 because of its LCU connection.

Robinhood Day 2: Box Office Numbers Crash Below Day 1

0

Robinhood, the latest action entertainer starring Nithin and Sreeleela, directed by Venky Kudumula, is facing a big struggle at the box office. After having a poor start on the first day, Robinhood Day 2’s box office numbers crashed below Day 1.

On the opening day, the film just collected in the range of 4 Cr gross. It was a disastrous start for the film. Due to below-par WOM and reviews, on Day 2 it further dropped from that. The early estimates of day 2 gross indicate just around 3 Cr, which takes the total gross to 7 Cr, with a share just around 3 Cr.

If the film does not pick up momentum on festival days on Day 3 and Day 4, it will end up with a single-digit closing share. Robinhood Day 2’s box office numbers crashed below Day 1.

Even though it came with a blockbuster Bheeshma combo, somehow the promotional content of the film completely failed to grab audiences’ attention. Also, it opens with below-par ratings/reviews.

Because of such a bad response, Robinhood completely went down at the box office. Nithin, who expected a comeback with this, but the film is heading towards one of the biggest disasters for him.

Tollywood is Losing the War Against Piracy

0

Tollywood (Telugu Cinema) is already facing big struggles with the OTT market downfall; the satellite market is also getting down. The Hindi dubbing market also has seen a downfall in recent years, and now, Tollywood is losing the war against piracy as well.

Apart from the above-mentioned issues, post-COVID-19, the audiences are not coming to the theaters for all films like before, and they are interested in watching or stepping out of home only for a few selected films.

At this time Telugu Cinema sees another big burden with piracy. The HD prints of the films came out on opening day itself for recent films. Thandel’s makers directly admitted that they were unable to take any stand against piracy, and Di Raju recently addressed this issue and said that all producers need to come out to take an initiative.

Now HD versions of both Robinhood and Mad Square, the latest releases, are out on the net, and netizens are spreading/sharing those links. The producers need to do something with this, as they are already struggling to get the invested amounts, as all businesses are going down.

If piracy increases continually, it will add more burden to them. The Telugu producers need to take a strong stand as Tollywood is losing the war against piracy.

They can even take the help from the government to set up an anti-piracy team and fight against it. The problem with the movie producers is they are addressing this issue only at their movie release time and not bothering about other movies, which is the main concern in this entire issue.

NTR’s Dragon: Sankranthi and Early Summer Out

0

NTR’s Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel, is the first film to be announced for the 2026 Sankranthi festival release, and 9th January was locked as the release date. The film’s shoot did not start as per plans, and now it is certain that NTR’s Dragon will not be released on Sankranthi or early summer.

NTR – Neel’s Dragon moved from Sankranthi 2026

As said above, the NTR—Neel movie arrived on set late. At first, the team announced it would go on sets in October 2024, but the 1st schedule began in February 2025 last week in Hyderabad. NTR will join the Dragon sets in April.

Due to a delay in shooting, NTR’s Dragon will not be released on Sankranthi or early summer. It clearly opts out of the Sankranthi race. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravipudi’s film was announced for Sankranthi 2026.

Huge Competition for Sankranthi 2026

Also, Raviteja’s film is also arriving during the same season, while from Kollywood, Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has also been announced for a Sankranthi/Pongal release along with Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi. A few more Telugu films will also be joining the Sankranthi race.

After Sankranthi, summer is the best release date for Dragon, and it was also said that the team is planning to release the film for summer. However, even the early summer release will also not be an option for the film, as the same production house, Mythri, and Ram Charan’s Peddi are planning for a 26th March release.

Nani’s The Paradise was also announced for the same date. Peddi is also a pan-Indian film. So, definitely, they want a 3–4-week gap between the two biggies. So NTR—Neel’s Dragon is likely to target the April end or May release.
