Is Madharaasi a Flop?

0

Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi did not have much pre-release buzz despite his last film, Amaran, being a big blockbuster. It received decent reviews upon its release. But unfortunately, Madharaasi ends as a flop at the box office.

Amaran was also a big hit in Telugu states, but the Telugu audiences did not like Madharaasi at all. However, in Tamil the film received positive reviews and performed well on the 1st weekend.

But after the weekend the film had a huge drop in collections, and there were some expectations that big momentum would be there on the 2nd weekend, but even on the 2nd weekend the action thriller is going on a very dull note.

For 9 days, the film has collected 50 Cr gross in Tamil Nadu and around 87 Cr gross worldwide. Now it is almost confirmed that the film will not see many numbers from tomorrow, and it will likely end around 105 Cr gross at the box office.

This is definitely a disappointing box office collection, and the film is heading towards a loss venture in all territories. Overall, Sivakarthikeyan and AR Murugadoss’s Madharaasi is a flop at the box office.

Ram Gopal Varma Slaps Himself Because of Manchu Manoj

Teja Sajja and Karthik Gattamneni’s Mirai became a big hit and is heading towards a big blockbuster at the box office. The veteran director Ram Gopal Varma slaps himself because of Manchu Manoj’s performance in the film.

RGV took to his X (Twitter) and said that after watching Mirai, he honestly can’t recall the last time VFX felt this grand, even in films with budgets over ₹400 crore.

He also said that he saw Manchu Manoj as a miscast as the villain, but after seeing the powerful performance, Ram Gopal Varma had to slap himself for doubting Manchu Manoj. The controversial filmmaker also appreciated Teja Sajja and stated that the actor looked cool in the action sequences.

According to RGV, the visuals, background score, and screenplay structure of Mirai are simple, and certain moments, especially the interval block, the build-up, and the devotional undertones, felt deeply immersive.

He tagged director Karthik Gattamneni and said that Mirai’s success came because it feels like a vivid dream. Its mythology painted in visual brilliance, layered with heroism. The film achieves its ambition through masterful control of Karthik over every department.

Also, the Rangeela director appreciated producer Vishwa Prasad for choosing passion over industry warnings and choosing to believe in the content of the film.

As Ram Gopal Varma congratulates the team of Mira, a few online users see his post as mere publicity, while a section supports him, as he really liked the film and the efforts behind it.

Sundarakanda OTT Release Date Confirmed

0

Nara Rohith came with Sundarakanda, a comedy drama, this August. The movie got positive reviews and WOM, but it did not perform well at the box office. The latest news is that the film will arrive on OTT soon.

Reportedly, the digital rights of the film have been bought by Jio Hotstar, and Nara Rohith’s Sundarakanda will be streaming on OTT from this month’s end.

The team failed to create minimal buzz pre-release, and Nara Rohit’s market has seen a huge decline recently. With all these audiences prepared in their minds to watch the film when it arrives on OTT.

Directed by Venktesh Nimmalapudi, this comedy drama has Sri Devi Vijaykumar in a crucial role, while Vriti Vaghani appears as the female lead. Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Vasuki Anand, Satya, Ajay, VTV Ganesh, Abhinav Gomatam, and others took on supporting roles.

No Whistles for Rana

0

Teja Sajja and Karthik Gattmaneni’s Mirai is shaking the box office in its first weekend. Manchu Manoj played the main villain’s role, and it also has Rana in a cameo, which appears at the end of the movie. But surprisingly, Rana’s entry failed to bring whistles in theaters.

Recently a new trend has started in Telugu films, where a film introduces a star in the end as a lead to the next part. These kinds of cameos normally work very well and get a big response in theaters.

Mirai: Rana’s Cameo fails to impress audiences

In Mirai also the team introduced Rana at the end and announced part two. However, either the scene did not connect to audiences or the actor somehow failed to bring that aura; as a result, shockingly, there were no whistles when Rana’s character is introduced in Mirai’s end.

The director could have presented the lead scene for the next part and Rana’s character much better. Even though Mirai is already heading towards a huge blockbuster, with a not-so-strong lead scene, a huge anticipation might not be created for the next parts.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG: Two Special Shows and Ticket Hikes Set to Guarantee All-Time Record Opening

0

Power star Pawan Kalyan’s OG is gearing up for a grand theatrical release worldwide on 25th September. The buzz is that there will be two special shows and ticket hikes for OG, which will pave the way for an all-time record opening.

As the film has huge hype and did massive business, the distributors are all set to cash in on it via paid premieres on 24th September night. Also, there will be another special show, which is on 25th September at 1 AM / 5 AM.

Obviously, for these special shows there will be a ticket hike and, along with extra shows, permission for 10 days.

For premieres, the ticket price is likely to be a flat 900/1000 Rs, and for early morning special shows also there will be a flat ticket price of 500. Besides this, there will be an additional hike of around 150/200 for regular shows for the first 10 days.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG is set for an earth-shattering opening with special shows and ticket hikes. The film is having a huge craze, and it is definitely on track to achieve the biggest opening of all time in Telugu states.

Pushpa 2, with 74.3 Cr, and RRR, with 74 Cr, are the biggest openers in Telugu states, and “They Call Him OG” will definitely aim for an all-time record by breaking these.

Mirai Box Office: The End of Ticket Hikes?

0

Nowadays ticket hikes are a major reason for audiences not coming to the theaters on a regular basis. One can understand if a big film gets hikes, but even medium-range movies also do the same. But Teja Sajja’s Mirai’s success could be the end of ticket hikes.

The industry people have often expressed that the huge hikes in ticket prices will not help the footfalls, but the makers continued to go for hikes for all films. For star-hero films or big-budget films, the hikes are fine.

But even the tier 2 stars’ films with just around 30 Cr business are also taking the ticket hikes in Andhra Pradesh. However, the latest blockbuster, Mirai, did not apply for ticket hikes and went with normal prices.

The fantasy adventure film is posting record numbers for tier 2 star films, which proves that at least for this range of films, the makers need not go for the ticket hike, and the G.O prices are enough to achieve breakeven and bigger numbers.

In Telangana, the tier 2-star films are not taking the hike, but in Andhra Pradesh, they are taking a hike of 50 Rs or 75 Rs, which is also not needed. Hopefully Mirai’s success stops the medium-budget films from going for such high prices.

0

Bellamkonda Sreenivas’s Kishkindhapuri had a growth at the box office, with collections improving on each show. On Saturday evening and night, the film sees housefuls and strong occupancies.

The positive WOM spread online and helped the film massively. Despite the huge domination of Mirai, this horror thriller has made its mark among audiences.

For opening day, the film has collected around 3 Cr gross, and on Day 2 the film sees over a 30% jump, which takes Day 2 gross to 4 Cr. Kishkindhapuri’s 2-day gross at the box office is 7 Cr, and on Sunday the film is likely to see its biggest day.

The film needs to collect 15 Cr gross to achieve hit status, and it is on track to see the recovery of around 75% on opening weekend itself. If the film holds well after the weekend, then it can emerge as a blockbuster at the box office.

After a sensational day 1, Teja Sajja’s Mirai sees a terrific hold on day 2 and crosses the 50-crore mark worldwide. Many stations registered bigger numbers compared to the opening day, hinting at a massive first weekend.

The Hindi version of the film witnesses a very big growth with a double jump on the second day with the help of the Buy One Get One offer.

On opening day, the fantasy adventure film collected 24 Cr gross worldwide, which itself is phenomenal, and on Day 2 the film even saw better collections than opening day with around 25 Cr gross collection.

Mirai Box Office: Massive Growth on Day 2

A medium-budget film trending like this is insane. Mirai’s Day 2 numbers shock everyone, and for 2 days the film has collected 50 Cr gross worldwide, and the film is expected to see a similar range of collections today as well.

The film is on track to achieve 100 Cr in the first week, and certainly it will reach the 150 Cr milestone in its full run as well.
