As we know, making the film’s as a sequel and franchise has become the new trend in Indian Cinema. Especially the South Indian Cinema, this trend has been more effective. Now, according to the latest reports, it is said that Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer will also follow the trend. Reportedly, Jailer is the beginning of director Nelson’s Universe.
Like Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram, Jailer also ends on a highly intriguing note, leaving opportunities for a sequel. In the end, the main villain talks about “some people” and a “large syndicate and network” and warns Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth) that he cannot get away and live in peace with his family.
So there can be more number of villains and which is why the director Nelson Dilipkumar has shown Rajinikanth, Shiva Raj Kumar, and Mohanlal, the three superstars coming together on screen to fight against the big crime syndicate.
The question is, will Nelson really follow the links which he set up and proceeds with universe? Rajinikanth has never had a sequel in his career that spans nearly 50 years. Whether he will make an exception under the current circumstances in Tamil cinema remains to be seen. Furthermore, he has a series of movies lined up. Even if Nelson creates a story for the Jailer sequel, it may take some time before it comes to fruition.
