Actress and former Member of Parliament Jaya Prada has been sentenced to jail by the Egmore court in Chennai. This news has come as a real shocker for the industry and political circles as well. The news of Jayaprada getting six months arrest warrant issued has gone viral on the internet.
Actually, the reason for this is, Jayaprada owns a movie theater in Royapettah, Chennai. It was led by Ram Kumar and Rajababu from Chennai. However, the ESI amount was not paid for the workers working in the film theater. The workers then approached the Egmore court seeking help.
In this order, Jayaprada stated that she will pay the ESI amount to be paid to the workers. Jaya prada requested the Egmore court to dismiss the petition. However, this was objected by the lawyer for the Labour Government Insurance Corporation. The Egmore court sentenced Jayaprada and three others to a warrant of six months of jail. A fine of Rs 5,000 has also been imposed.
Jayaprada, who became a political leader from The Samajwadi Party, was a two-time MP from Rampur constituency.
