Jailer marked a massive comeback for Rajinikanth and in the film Nelson Dileepkumar gave a lead to a 2nd part. The action entertainer emerged as 2023’s South India’s biggest grosser. It managed to stay above crazy films like Leo and Salaar which also failed to beat this collection.
Right since the blockbuster success of Jailer, Nelson is focused on the sequel and has started writing for it for part 2. Now pre-production works are in final stage and the team is likely to announce the project soon.
Jailer 2 is likely to go on sets this year’s end. Superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettiyan is set for release this year and his next project Coolie with Lokesh Kanagaraj is on set already. Post these two films Jailer 2 shooting will start. The makers of Coolie are planning to release it in the Summer of 2025 release while the much awaited sequel project is likely to be released in the 2026 1st half.
There are massive expectations on the Jailer sequel. Recently Yogi Babu confirmed that he is part of Jailer 2 also. He further revealed that just like in part one, Nelson has designed a good comedy track for him.
