Buchi Babu and JR.NTR shared a close bond with each other on the sets of Nannaku Prematho where the Uppena director served as an assistant director to Sukumar. Since then, the two have been in close touch.
After the massive success of Uppena, NTR gave a nod to Buchi Babu. The director started working on a script and spent the next few years developing a story for NTR. But the actor got busy with the shooting of RRR and had no time for Buchi Babu.
Now after the mammoth success of RRR, NTR did not want to scale back down. As a result, he kept delaying his project with Buchi Babu. Even his next film with Koratala Siva has been facing multiple delays and as a result, Buchi Babu has decided to leave the project with NTR.
He is now focusing on some other scripts and looking at new combinations. He is reportedly in talks with Vijay Deverakonda for a film. We will have to wait and see if this film materializes or not. Buchi Babu desperately needs another film to add to his catalog since it has been almost 3 years since the release of Uppena
