RRR is the most talked about film in the Indian film industry right now. Although months have passed since the release of RRR, the mania of this movie is not decreasing at all. This fictional period action drama directed by SS Rajamouli became a sensational hit at the box office. But the film did not get huge profits for the producers as in India everywhere it just performed at the breakeven value and a few areas ended up with losses also.
But after releasing OTT, it received huge international acclaim. Now it has entered the Oscar campaign and is buzzing in the global circuit. The RRR team has put a lot of budget for promotions to release first when it was to release on Sankranthi. They have traveled all over India and even arranged a big event in Mumbai with Salman khan as chief guest. But due to Corona, the movie had to postpone, and the team again with no option left had to do the promotions for March end release.
Rajamouli’s eyes are on Oscar now and he started marketing by spending a huge amount. For the Movie promotions and Oscar promotions, the makers spent crores of money and industry circles are saying that with RRR promotional budget, a big star film can be made easily.
We all know that the Film Federation of India has not selected RRR film as an official entry for consideration at the Academy Awards on behalf of our country. However, Rajamouli and team Oscar did not give up on their efforts.
RRR has been sent to the Oscar jury under the For Your Consideration (FYC) category. It has been officially announced that the campaign has started for nominations in all fifteen categories. So now the makers have to bear all the expenses for the RRR movie campaign. Going by the current trend and the opinions of the Hollywood crowd, it seems that the Oscar Academy may consider RRR in some category.
It is also being said that if not in the main categories, the Oscar Academy may give RRR a consolation award or a special jury award. Let’s hope that the RRR movie gets an Oscar award, after all their constant and passionate efforts. If it gets the Oscar award, then it will be the proudest moment for the entire Indian film industry and the people of our country.
