The coming Sankranthi season will be extraordinary for film lovers as many films are ready to entertain them. Adipurush, Waltair Veerayya, Veera Simha Reddy, Agent, Varisu/Vaarasudu, and Thunivu are in contention for the festival season.

Although there’s a piece of strong news that Adipurush is most likely to be postponed from Sankranthi, there is a need for an official confirmation of the same. Meanwhile, other movies are busy finishing their shooting and also business deals.

After a short gap, we are going to see a competition between Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna again. These mass heroes lastly had competitive releases in Sankranti 2017. Then Chiru’s re-entry movie ‘Khaidi No.150’ got a clear upper hand on Balayya’s 100th movie ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’, which also did well.

Now their new films ‘Waltair Veeraiya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ have been finalized for Sankranti release. Balayya is in a good form after the stupendous success of ‘Akhanda’. While Chiranjeevi got shocked by the disaster of ‘Acharya’ and got an okay result with ‘Godfather’.

Recently the overseas business deal for Chiru and Balayyala movies has been completed. Mythri Movie Makers is producing both films and has also tied the overseas rights to the same company. Shloka Entertainments is going to distribute Waltair Veeraya, Veerasimha Reddy, and Vijay’s Varisu in the USA.

Waltair Veeraya has been bought for Rs.6 crores. Veera Simha Reddy is priced at Rs.4 crores. Varisu movie is bought for Rs.5 crores. While both Telugu films have a heavy dose of mass elements, it is said that Varisu will be a family action entertainer. All the USA business of these three movies has been done by shloka entertainment for 15Crs.

It will be interesting to see how the screens and locations will be shared between these three movies as a single company is distributing them. Bobby is directing Chiru’s Waltair Veerayya, Gopichand Malineni directs Balayya’s Veera Simha Reddy, and Vamsi Paidipally is handling Vijay’s Varisu.
