He mentioned instances where his scenes were often removed, and at times, lead actors would personally ask him to take on negative roles in their movies.
Explaining his decision, Sethupathi stated, “They try to put an emotional pressure on me, which I don’t want to face. I am not feeling bad, but there are restrictions when I play a villain. They are controlling me so much, not to take over the protagonist, and some things go in the editing also.”
Taking a break from such roles for a while, Sethupathi acknowledged the difficulties he faced in declining villainous roles. Despite saying no, he frequently is compelled to consider the scripts, further complicating the situation. One can feel that Vijay Sethupathi is frustrated with villain roles.
Merry Christmas, the next film of Vijay Sethupathi, which stars Katrina Kaif and is directed by Sriram Raghavan, changed its release date from December 15th to January 12th.
