Vijay Deverakonda, looking to bounce back after recent setbacks with The Family Star and Kingdom, is banking on his period action drama Ranabaali to deliver the much-needed hit. The film was initially slated for a September release, but reports now suggest it has been pushed to November or December.
Release Date Shuffle
The makers of Ranabaali announced September 11, 2026, as the release date earlier this year. However, the film has now been postponed and is likely to target a November or December release window.
There are also unconfirmed reports that Ranabaali might take the December 3rd slot, which was earlier announced for Fauzi. However, nothing has been officially confirmed by the production house.
High Stakes for Vijay Deverakonda
The postponement comes at a crucial time for Vijay Deverakonda, who hasn’t delivered a major box office success in recent years. His 2024 release The Family Star underperformed, while Kingdom (July 2025) opened strong with ₹17 Cr but couldn’t sustain momentum and ended as a disappointment.
With back-to-back setbacks, industry eyes are now on Ranabaali and his other upcoming project Rowdy Janardhan to revive his box office track record.

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. The period drama features the beloved pairing of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna and is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
Based on real incidents from the 1850s-1878, the film tells the story of a rebel who stood up against British exploitation in the Rayalaseema region. International actor Arnold Vosloo (known for The Mummy) plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector. The pan-India project will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
