In pursuit of bringing freshness to their films, the trend of Tollywood and Kollywood directors working in opposite industries has picked up of late. Director Lingusamy is working with Ram for ‘The Warrior’ while Vamsi Paidipally is directing Vijay for ‘Varisu’. Similarly, Sekhar Kammula will direct Dhanush up next. Keeping this trend alive, Venkat Prabhu has signed 2 back to back films with Telugu heroes.
Venkat Prabhu has officially announced a project with Naga Chaitanya and pre-production works are going on. The film will be a bilingual one and will release in Tamil and Telugu. Srinivasa Chitturi will produce NC22 under the Sreenivasa Silver Screen banner and will go on floors soon. Naga Chaitanya is currently awaiting the release of his Bollywood debut Lal Singh Chaddha and Vikram Kumar’s Thank You.
Incidentally, he is in talks with Nagarjuna for his next project and will be quite busy in Tollywood now. The script for this film has been finalised.
Venkat Prabhu is riding high on the success of his last film ‘ Maanadu’. The 2021 film ended up being a blockbuster and brought much-needed success to Simbu and the director himself. It will be interesting to see how Venkat Prabhu’s journey with Telugu heroes goes ahead.
