Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab released earlier this month to good reviews. The critics even declared this performance of Pawan Kalyan as one of the finest of his career. Power Star’s comeback to the big screen after 3 years was enough to generate massive hype for the movie. Such were the expectations on the film that it got great openings and occupancies. The movie was even declared the biggest opening in India film since lockdown. However, the recent Vakeel Saab collections have forced producer Dil Raju to change plans. Raju is planning to relook at the OTT agreement that he had made with Amazon Prime earlier.

The major reason for this is post the initial euphoria, the movie has been facing multiple challenges. The Covid second wave turned out to be a big challenge for the movie. The bigger roadblock though was the AP government’s orders to put a slab on the ticket prices.

A new GO issued on 8th April, directed theatres across AP regarding the prices of the tickets. As per the directives, theatres situated in Municipal Corporation, Municipality, Nagar Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat each have been given a slab for ticket prices as per the theatre class. This created a lot of troubles for the movies.

And now with theatres running on 50% occupancy in AP along with even shutting down in some regions, the makers are left with no choice but to re-look at their OTT agreement. Initially, it was decided that the movie will be released on Amazon Prime after 50 days of the release. However, with the film’s theatrical release coming to an end due to various factors, Vakeel Saab might be streaming on Amazon Prime sooner than expected.
