Akhanda released on 2nd December and became the first blockbuster from Tollywood after the second wave. The movie collected a monstrous amount in its total run, becoming the highest-grossing film in Balakrishna’s career spanning over decades.
Now, to capitalize on the success of Akhanda in Telugu, two huge Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar are aiming to star in the Bollywood remake of Akhanda. Akhanda was not only well-received in the Telugu states but also received love in the North as well. This has piqued the interest of Bollywood stars.
Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar are very good friends, so it’ll be interesting to see how this ends up. This is also not the first Telugu film they are remaking.
Ajay Devgn has previously starred in the remake of Maryada Ramanna, titled Son of Sardaar, and also Suriya’s Singham. Akshay Kumar has remade Ravi Teja’s Vikramarkudu as Rowdy Rathore.
But it will be very hard for any actor to match the mass and swag of Balayya. More importantly, a script like Akhanda only suits Balakrishna. There have been no confirmations on the director or producer of the film but, Ajay or Akshay is likely to produce the film themselves.
