Dasari gave the Telugu Film Industry some of its most iconic movies. Apart from this he also launched the careers of a number of technicians, directors, and actors who later became hugely successful in the film industry.
Apart from being a visonary director, he was also a terrific actor. His many-fold talents also included directing, producing, screenwriting and songwriting. In a career spanning five decades, Dasari Narayana Rao directed over 150 films. He’s also a recipient of 3 National Film Awards and 9 Nandi Awards.
Swargam Narakam, Amma Rajinama, Osey Ramulamma, Sardar Paparaidu, Sivaranjani, Meghasandesam, Bobbili Puli, Gorintaku, Premabhishekam, Majnu are some of the many of his notable films.
Fans and industry colleagues paid rich tributes to the ‘Darsakaratna’. Mega Star Chiranjeevi paid his homage to the star director on social media.
Apart from Mega Star Chiranjeevi, director Bobby, Gopichand Mallineni and Maruthi also paid their respects to the legend. Dasari Narayana Rao passed away at the age of 70 in the year 2017 of prolonged illness.
