Theatres to reopen in Telangana from July 23rd

Telangana government has decided to permit cinema theatres to reopen from July 23rd onwards. The theatres will also be functioning with 100% occupancy now.

Representatives of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) met cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and submitted a memorandum to consider the opening of cinemas. With confirmation from the Minister, the theater owners have approved the opening of theaters in Telangana starting from July 23.

Before that, cinema theatres were completely closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the COVID-19 was more or less under control, the government thought it appropriate to reopen the facilities.

The cinema theatres opening are required to follow all necessary social distancing measures and masks will be mandatory. Additionally, compulsory sanitisation of common areas after each show has been made mandatory.

A number of movies that were supposed to release in April will now be scurrying to set a release date now. Movies such as Love Story, Tuck Jagadish, etc. are soon expected to announce official release dates.
