According to the latest reports, Yatra 2, Yatra’s sequel, which was the biopic of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, is on the verge of starting production soon. Director Mahi V Raghav had officially confirmed the sequel in 2019, and finally, it seems that the right time to make this movie has come.
It was already been confirmed that Yatra 2 will be on the line for release before the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. Now, internal reports say that the project could begin production over the following months. The lead actor of the film has not been fixed yet. However, a few names like Tamil Hero Vishal and Prateek Gandhi, who rose to fame with his outstanding performance in Scam 1992 Web Series, were said to be in consideration for playing the role of YS Jagan.
Yatra was made on YS Raja Shekhar Reddy’s Padayatra Episode and the sequel was announced at that time itself. Now, the director Mahi V Raghav is said to have started working on the film’s production. The sequel of Yatra Movie will focus on the padayatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy before the 209 Elections. More details of the film will be available once it begins the shoot, which is not too far from now.
Before the 2019 Elections, both the political parties of Andhra Pradesh had made movies to strengthen their vote bank. SR NTR’s Biopic was made into two parts as NTR Kadhanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu. However, the two parts bombed at the box office while YSR’s Biopic Yatra was made as a single part and had a moderate success.
