The Kerala Story finally arriving at OTT

The Kerala Story is finally arriving at OTT. Directed by Sudipto Sen, The Kerala Story was released in theatres in May last year and was a sensational blockbuster, collecting around 250Cr Net in India. The film also had its share of controversies because of the storyline. The Kerala Story is finally arriving at OTT.

Reportedly, the movie’s digital rights were bought by ZEE5 and was supposed to stream from 23rd June 2023. However, the streaming did not happen due to political reasons. The latest buzz says that the film is undergoing a recensoring process for U/A from A certificate, and a few shots will be trimmed to avoid political issues.

It is being reported that the discussions are said to be in the final stage, and the film, The Kerala Story, will be ready to stream and is expected to be aired on ZEE5 this month only.

Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani, The Kerala Story was earlier officially described as the story of more than 32,000 Kerala women whom Islamic fundamentalists have allegedly radicalized. However, the number was changed to three from 32,000 after protests spread online, stating that the makers were spreading misinformation.

The Kerala Story movie revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan (Adah Sharma), Nimah (Yogita Bihani), and Siddhi Idnani (Geetanjali), who share their room with Asifa (Sonia Balani) in a nursing college in Kasargod, Kerala. How Asifa, who is an aide to ISIS, indoctrinates and brainwashes the three girls and converts them to Islam and what happens to them is the main crux of the movie.
