The current stars in the Telugu Film Industry who have achieved true Pan-Indian status are Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, and JR.NTR. They have made an image for themselves not only in the two Telugu states but also in the North and some, even overseas.
After scoring such huge Pan-Indian blockbusters, no actor wants to do regional movies anymore. When they have a huge market to play with, it does not make sense for the actor to stick to only making Telugu films. As a result, all the Pan-Indian stars are not looking to collaborate with unestablished directors in the industry. They only want to work with directors with a certain brand value.
In fact, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and JR.NTR have canceled some of their projects due to this reason. Allu Arjun had committed to a film called ICON with Venu Sriram before the release of Pushpa. After the humungous Pan-Indian success of Pushpa, Allu Arjun has backed out of ICON. He wants to work with a director who has a huge reach and a strong market.
Even Ram Charan had signed a script with Jersey director Goutam Tinnanuri but he has canceled the project due to the same reasons. He is already shooting for Shankar’s RC15 and does not want to scale down from there. He only wants to work with more established directors in the Indian film industry. Similarly, JR.NTR had signed a film with Buchi Babu Sana but he canceled that project after RRR’s global reach.
