Bollywood industry which holds the majority of the audience in India is moving on with direct OTT Release. As there is no clarity over re-opening of theaters producers are opting of Direct OTT Release by skipping theatrical release. Already a couple of movies were streaming and more than a dozen films are scheduled for release.
One of the most awaited Bollywood film Laxmi Bomb has made a whopping deal with Disney Plus Hotstar for direct release. Recently Disney Plus Hotstar has also confirmed that they are going to stream Laxmmi Bomb along with other 6 Bollywood films. While the release date of Dil Bechara has announced as 24th July remaining streaming dates are yet to be announced. As per industry buzz, Disney Plus Hotstar is planning to lock the release of the Laxmmi Bomb in 2nd week of September. The possible date for its digital stream is said to be on September 11th.
Laxmmi Bomb stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in lead roles. This film is an official remake of Tamil/ Telugu film Kanchan. This film is being directed by Raghav Lawrence who directed the original version. This film is produced under Fox Star Studios along with Cape of Good Films banner.
