Salaar witnesses abnormal trending in Hindi markets. It is widely known that Rebel Star Prabhas has released his latest pan Indian action drama, Salaar in competition with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki on the Christmas weekend. Salaar witnesses abnormal trending in Hindi markets.
Prabhas’s Salaar opened with an average start of a 15Cr net in Hindi markets and did not take a jump on day 2. It maintained the same range on day 2. On Sunday, it witnessed a decent jump and collected 20Cr net and on the Christmas day it collected on the same range of day 1 and day 2 collections.
Salaar grown big on Christmas weekend
For the 4-day holiday weekend, the film had collected around 65Cr net. Normally, with this kind of average opening weekend, the film would have seen a heavier drop on Day 5 [Working day] but surprisingly, Salaar maintained solid occupancy even on day 5 evening and night shows numbers were better than Christmas day which surprised everyone.
On the other side, Dunki witnessed a big drop after the festival weekend. Salaar collected around 9.5Cr net on day 5 and day 6 and dominated Dunki . Again it started dropping on Day 7 as on Thursday it fell flat and gathered 7Cr. On Friday, it dropped even more and did not pick up during the evening shows.
This is a very abnormal trending for the film, which is suddenly raising and suddenly dropping on collections which we have not seen regularly.
From the release date to Christmas day, Dunki had a clear lead over Salaar, but on 26th and 27th December Salaar took the lead over Dunki and from 28th December Dunki registered better occupancy and for the weekend also Dunki has better advance bookings than Salaar. This is a completely abnormal trending for Salaar. We must wait and see how the film will trend in this long weekend.
