RRR and KGF 2 movies almost released at the same period and KGF2 won the battle at the box office with a margin of 50 Crores around. RRR raised over 1150 Crores gross worldwide and KGF 2 compiled over 1200 Crores Gross worldwide. Trade Circles and the industry people never expected the RRR film to overtake the lead, even after it was released in Japan.
Now with Japan collections, RRR crossed KGF2 movie’s final collections. Until now RRR has collected around 60 Crores gross in Japan and became the all-time Top-3 grosser in Indian movies after Dangal, Baahubali 2. If we exclude China’s collections, the top 2 grossers belong to SS Rajamouli.
No one expected RRR to score big at the Japanese box office when it was released, and some even commented that releasing RRR in Japan was a waste of time. But it surpassed everyone’s expectations, and it has crossed the numbers of KGF 2.
Both the films have made a gigantic impact on the audience by gathering massive numbers and also the directors Prashanth Neel, SS Rajamouli have been appreciated for their efforts and vision. Both The films further featured in the IMDB List of 10 most-watched Indian films in 2022.
