The trend of re-releasing old classics or blockbuster movies of stars has become very common now. It is also working very big recently and a lot of actors are benefiting from this as well.
We have seen this in the case of movies like Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri, Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa, and Balakrishna’s Chennakesava Reddy. While all these movies did great numbers, there are also some re-releases that do not work. For example, Chiranjeevi’s Gharana Mogudu did not attract the audience.
Now Prabhas’ Rebel has been re-released for this weekend and except for 5-6 shows, all the other shows have shown poor bookings and low occupancy. The general audience does not have any interest to watch this movie in the theatres.
Most fans also do not want to watch Rebel in theatres. This is probably because Rebel is not one of Prabhas’ best works. The film was never liked even when it was originally released.
Now all eyes are on Billa as fans of Prabhas are planning a grand re-release on the occasion of his birthday. It may work due to the cult look of Prabhas in Billa but only time will tell us.
