Lady Superstar Nayantara – Director Vignesh Sivan couple recently announced that they are parents. They expressed their happiness on social media by saying that they had twins. But their happiness did not last long.
When Nayanatara and Vignesh announced that they had twins born four months after their marriage, eventually everyone understood that the couple became parents through surrogacy.
However, questions have been raised as to whether surrogate births are done by the rules. In this context, the Tamil Nadu government has issued notices to the Nayanthara couple.
Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian said a probe would be launched to see if the couple violated surrogacy laws.
A three-member committee has been appointed in accordance to inquire whether Vignesh – Nayanatara couple’s surrogacy is legal or not. The committee has to submit a report to the government within a week. It seemed that Nayantara and Vignesh Sivan will be investigated as part of this.
But it is heard that the celebrity couple is planning to get out of this problem legally. Indian law has certain rules for getting children through surrogacy. This law came into force in January 2022. The main allegation heard now is that the Nayantara couple has violated the rules contained therein.
Now reports have it that Nayantara and Vignesh gave an affidavit given to the Tamil Nadu health department that their marriage was registered six years ago. The revelation comes at a time when it’s most needed.
On October 9, Vignesh Shivan tweeted that they have become parents of twin boys. They tied the knot in June this year.
As per existing norms, couples can opt for surrogacy only if they have no children at least five years after marriage.
It is in this light that the couple has come up with fresh claims. They have reportedly produced the document of marriage registration along with the affidavit. A team led by the health director is probing the matter.
The hospital in Chennai where the twins were born has been identified. It was also revealed that a Malayali based in Dubai had given birth to the twins.
