The wait is almost over for Ram Charan and Sukumar fans. RC17 will be launched with a pooja ceremony on November 1. Mythri Movie Makers producer Y Ravi Shankar has made it official.
“RC17 pooja will be held on November 1st. From there, things will go at a brisk pace,” Ravi said.
A Small Change in Plans
Just a few days ago, Ravi had said the pooja would happen on October 26 or 27. The date has now moved by a few days, and November 1 is final.
Shoot From December
After the pooja, the team will move quickly. The regular shoot of RC17 is set to begin in December.
With Ravi promising things will move at a “brisk pace” from the launch, fans can expect regular updates on the film from here on.
A New Sukumar This Time
This is where RC17 could be very different from Sukumar’s earlier films. Sukumar is known for taking a lot of time on sets, refining scenes as he shoots. The Pushpa films, for example, took years to complete.
But for RC17, Sukumar is said to be working in a completely different way. He is going with a well-planned pre-production phase, so that each schedule can be finished quickly and as planned, without delays.
It’s a big change in his working style, and if it works, RC17 could reach theatres much faster than fans expect from a Sukumar film.
The Music Director Question
One big question is still open. Who will compose the music for RC17?
Sukumar has worked with Devi Sri Prasad on all his big hits, including Rangasthalam and the Pushpa films. But there has been strong talk that Anirudh Ravichander could come on board for RC17.
Ravi had earlier said the final call will be taken by Sukumar after he returns from London, and that choosing another composer won’t hurt Mythri’s bond with DSP. With the pooja now days away, an announcement could come at the launch itself.
The Rangasthalam Reunion
RC17 brings Ram Charan and Sukumar back together after Rangasthalam, one of the biggest hits of both their careers. With Sukumar coming off the record-breaking Pushpa films, expectations for this reunion are sky-high.
