Filmfare Awards are one of the most prestigious awards in India with top actors and filmmakers vying for the honours. Recently Filmfare Awards 2023 were given out and Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor award while Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress award. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail won the best film award for 2023.
These awards, just like every year left some mixed reactions with fans of every star feeling their favourite was left out. The Best Actor award also received some criticism where Shahrukh Khan fans felt the Bollywood King deserved to win instead of Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir’s co-star in Animal Rashmika Mandanna delivered her career-best performance in Animal undoubtedly she got all appreciation after Ranbir Kapoor, and Bobby Deol in the film. The role was quite challenging and demanded great emotional range from the actress and she did great.
On the other hand, many felt Alia Bhatt who won Best Actress Award for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Kahani was not a deserving one as it wasn’t a challenging role and there was no scope for great performance. It was a rom-com entertainer and Alia won the award and Rashmika was not even nominated and this has reportedly disappointed her very much.
Awards are a vital part of every actor’s career. And it is right on their part to expect it when they deliver their career-best performance. It happens very rarely that actresses get strong characters in commercial films and not getting recognition for that is certainly disappointing.
