Filmfare Awards are one of the oldest and most anticipated award nights of Bollywood. The stars and their fans eagerly await this star-studded night to see Bollywood award its finest actors, films, and technicians. This year’s Filmfare Awards were quite interesting with all Bollywood A-listers having a release in 2023.
Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor while Alia Bhat was awarded the Best Actress for 2023. 12th Fail directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra received the Best Film Award. While Ranbir won the award for his stunning performance in Animal, a large section of Shahrukh Khan fans believed it should have gone to SRK.
2023 was the best year for Shahrukh Khan as he delivered 3 successful films- Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Pathaan and Jawan were huge blockbusters and grossed 1000 crores worldwide and were completely entertainment and action-based films. Dunki, which was Shahrukh’s 3rd film of the year banked entirely on Shahrukh’s acting and it was well appreciated by all. Many felt that the Bollywood King should have received a Filmfare for Dunki.
Neutral audience however felt Ranbir Kapoor’s victory was well deserved. Shahrukh Khan’s performance in Dunki was good and there’s no denying that but Ranbir Kapoor delivered his lifetime best performance and the entire movie was based on his strong characterization which had all the emotions that Ranbir performed superbly.
