Ranbir Kapoor’s recent action drama Shamshera is now streaming on OTT. The film was released last month amidst poor reviews and ended up as yet another Bollywood big-budget failure. Shamshera starred Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in key roles.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera is now streaming in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on Amazon Prime Video. Yash Raj Productions bankrolled this highly ambitious project which was expected to do well at the box- office considering the starcast and fresh subject.
The film however received terrible word of mouth right on the release day. The movie is set in 1800s and follows the life story of a dacoit tribe and their fight for independence from the Britishers. Ranbir Kapoor played a double role in this film as Shamshera ( a tribal chief) and his son Bali (a decoit).
There were massive expectations on the project as it marked Ranbir Kapoor’s return after 4 years and director Karan Malhotra was returning to direction after 7 years. You can watch the film here.
