Rajinikanth and Vijay’s box-office rivalry has become a hot topic in Kollywood circles. The two stars have got their movies in the all-time Kollywood top grosser with Rajini having back-to-back industry hits for the past 25 years and Vijay looking to get his shot at overtaking the Superstar. Both Rajinikanth and Vijay area leading in Kollywood opening records and even closing numbers.
With Leo, Vijay has broken several Kollywood box-office records but failed to beat one of the most eagerly anticipated ones. With the kind of hype Leo had, everyone expected this Lokesh Kanagaraj film would surpass Kabali openings which were humungous.
Unfortunately for Thalapathy and his fans, the Kabali record still stands rock solid. The success meet of Leo and Jailer’s audio launch has further added fuel to this box-office rivalry. The fan wars are going beyond the limits with fans of both the stars looking to outdo one another.
Even cast and crew and relatives of the stars have now entered the fan wars trying to give their versions of Leo vs Jailer.
Madhuvanthii, relative to Rajinikanth’s wife Latha Rajinikanth has posted a video on her YouTube channel countering Leo writer Ratna’s comments. Ratna had earlier said that no matter how high you soar hunger must bring an eagle down. Now Madhuvanthii has countered this statement of Leo writer saying, “If an eagle comes down, it is dangerous for other birds not for eagle. An eagle will come, attack, and eat.”
Even Rajinikanth’s wife Latha Rajinikanth has liked a tweet on Leo being a disaster at the US box office compared to Jailer. We don’t know whether it happened mistakenly or someone else did this from Latha Rajinikanth’s account but Vijay’s fans are serious about this. Ratna’s unnecessary comments have started a war of words between Rajinikanth and Vijay fans.
