Pushpa: The Rise has emerged as a successful venture in its dubbed versions. Particularly in Hindi, the Sukumar-directorial has performed exceptionally well. However, it has had a forgettable run at the Telugu box office with significant losses in Andhra Pradesh.
But it seems the Telugu distributors of Pushpa: The Rule are overestimating its potential. Pushpa 2’s Telugu theatrical rights alone are valued around INR 200 crore, which is equivalent to Rajamouli’s RRR (2022), which itself was a loss-making venture due to overpricing.
As you can see, the buyers are putting huge amounts at risk with such business deals. All in all, Pushpa 2’s Nizam theatrical rights (own release by Mythri Moive Makers) are around INR 90 crore, while the coastal Andhra’s numbers are in the INR 80 crore region. Including the Ceded figures as well, the Telugu distribution rights are around INR 200 crore.
