Director Puri Jagannath had put his life into the film Liger and worked for more than 2 years on it, in which the youth sensation fondly called Rowdy, Vijay Deverakonda acted in the role.
Puri, Vijay Devarakonda, and the team of Liger promoted the film very aggressively by giving over exaggerated statements about the film, which made the buyers and the audience eager to the movie.
The film was released with huge expectations in August but turned out to be a huge disaster at the box office. After that problems have continued to be the partners of Puri Jagannath.
Liger resulted in huge losses for the distributors and according to the reports Puri also agreed to compensate, as the director felt that it was his responsibility.
It has been said that the director cleared all his dues, but it seems there is a misunderstanding between him and distributor Warangal Sreenu, the latter of whom is allegedly instigating many other sub-distributors to attack and threaten Puri because the director is yet to pay his dues to Sreenu.
Recently, a leaked phone call of Puri Jagannath became viral as we know, in which Puri had responded very strongly to the distributors who wanted to do dharna at his office. In return, the distributors accused of Puri being a cheater and according to them, Puri has not given the promised money.
Puri has now filed a complaint against Warangal Sreenu and G Shoban Babu for threatening violence against his family, and for wrongly accusing him of still owing money to them.
Puri has filed the case in Jubilee Hills police station and requested the police to take due action against the two and make sure that no harm is done to his family, as he is currently residing in Mumbai, while his mother-in-law, wife, and daughter are living in his Hyderabad house.
