On September 29, the Tamil movie Nane Varuvaen, which was directed by Selvaraghavan, the brother of Dhanush, was released in theatres all over the world. Dhanush and Selva have now worked together five times, with their previous projects including Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai, and Mayakkam Yenna.
The story is based on Prabhu and Kathir, identical twin brothers. While Prabhu is a a likable person, Kathir has always yielded trouble, garnering his father’s fury since he gets weary of having to correct him all the time. When Kathir attacks the next-door child, their father binds Kathir to a tree in the backyard.
Then the plot of Naane Varuven moves to the story of Prabhu, an usual suburbanite who values his family above anything else. When his daughter Satya becomes possessed by the ghost of a little boy, his life is completely flipped upside down. What’s the connection between Kathir and the possession of Satya? Will Prabhu be able to save Satya? form the rest of the story.
After Kodi and Pattas, Dhanush makes an appearance in a dual role for the third time. Nane Varuvaen is now streaming on OTT via Amazon Prime Video in both Telugu and Tamil languages.
Dhanush movies have a special craze in the Tamil film industry. Though it doesn’t look like he has a Super Star image, if the talk is good his movies do unexpected wonders at the box office. But no matter what the result of the movie is, Dhanush scores a hundred marks in his performance.
Tiruchitambalam was released before Dhanush’s Nane Varuvaen which became biggest hit of his career. This movie was also released in Telugu with the title Thiru. Thiru movie got a positive response.
Currently, Dhanush is doing the movie Sir/Vaathi under the direction of Venky Atluri. This movie will be released bilingually in Telugu and Tamil languages. The makers are planning a Pan India release of this movie.
Even though Dhanush has announced a movie under the direction of Shekhar Kammula, the project has not taken a single step forward till now. Inside talks are doing rounds that the project is almost canceled.
