Rajinikanth is one of the most iconic figures in the history of Indian cinema, especially in the South Indian film industry. Rajinikanth has dominated the big screens since his debut and has created a mark for himself. Owing to his unique style and approach to cinema, he gained a lot of hardcore fans who storm into theatres to this day.
But looking at the current trend, this aura around Rajinikanth seems to have reduced by a significant margin. As times change, it is very important for one to adapt and this is where Rajini has been left behind. His films ever since Kaala in 2018 have been performing poorly at the box office.
At one point in time, a Rajini movie would post great numbers in Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam also but this is not the case anymore. Even in Tamil, Rajini seems to have lost his spark among the audiences.
But one thing that has remained constant is that Rajini has always been offered massive remunerations despite the result at the box office. Even though he has not been able to attract the masses like Vijay, he is being offered remunerations in the range of 150 crores. This is truly shocking and we will have to see how the budget works out.
Rajinikanth’s next film is with director Nelson who struggled to handle a star like Vijay. Nelson is also not used to working with such huge budgets. After Jailer with Nelson, Rajini also plans to do a film with Don director Cibi Chakravarthy after which he will work with Mani Ratnam.
