Ram Charan’s Peddi has crossed ₹315 crore gross worldwide, emerging as South India’s highest-grossing film of 2026 after 12 days of theatrical run. The action drama has surpassed Karuppu‘s collections to claim the top spot, though the film’s record may not last long with several major releases lined up for the second half of the year.
Peddi Surpasses Karuppu With ₹315 Crore
Karuppu, which collected nearly ₹315 crore gross worldwide, had earlier surpassed Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (₹300+ crore) to become the biggest South Indian grosser of recent times. Now, Peddi has edged past Karuppu with a worldwide gross exceeding ₹315 crore.
| Film | Worldwide Gross | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Peddi | ₹315+ crore | Current leader |
| Karuppu | ~₹315 crore | Surpassed |
| Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu | ₹300+ crore | Earlier milestone |
The film is still running in theatres and is projected to finish its theatrical run around or over the ₹350 crore worldwide gross mark. However, Peddi could have reached the ₹500 crore club if it had received stronger support from other language markets and overseas territories, which underperformed compared to the domestic Telugu market.
Can Peddi Hold the South Indian Grosser Tag?
Peddi faces strong competition from several major releases scheduled for the second half of 2026. Jailer 2 is releasing later this year, Prabhas’ Fauji has a chance of arriving in December, and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is also expected to release this year.
Among these upcoming releases, Jailer 2 has the highest chances of emerging as the biggest South Indian grosser of the year, given the massive success of the first installment and Rajinikanth’s pan-Indian appeal.
