Dhanush, the multi-talented Kollywood actor, is set to direct a new film that will mark the acting debut of his son, Yatra. This Yatra debut project has generated significant buzz in the Tamil film industry.

It is widely known that apart from acting, Dhanush also writes, directs, and produces films. Now, he’s combining his directorial expertise with a personal milestone by launching his son’s career in cinema.

Yatra Debut Film – Production Details

The Yatra debut project will be produced by RTake Studios, which is also backing Dhanush’s upcoming film D55, directed by Amaran fame Rajkumar Periasamy. Notably, Yatra has previously worked on Dhanush’s directorial venture Raayan, gaining valuable behind-the-scenes experience before stepping in front of the camera.

The debut film is expected to be a mass commercial entertainer, with the promo shoot likely to commence in Chennai soon. A grand pooja ceremony is also expected to be held in the coming days.

Velraj will handle the cinematography, while GV Prakash is likely to compose the music for the film. The casting details remain under wraps, though there is strong speculation that several prominent actors could be part of the project.

Dhanush’s Directorial Journey

Dhanush made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Pa. Pandi in 2017, earning praise for his emotional storytelling. After a long gap, he returned to the director’s chair with Raayan (2024), a landmark project that also marked his 50th film as an actor.
