Nani’s Saripodha Sanivaaram Day 1 Collections!

‘Natural Star’ Nani’s vigilante thriller Saripodha Sanivaaram has hit the big screens today to mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and audiences. But thanks to the extensive promotions of the team, the film is off to a good start at the box office.

The Vivek Athreya-directorial has performed exceptionally well in the overseas belt, with figures estimated to be around $1 million. In Telugu states, a double-digit gross is expected to be posted. Overall, Saripodha Sanivaaram has minted a worldwide gross of INR 20 crore.

These are impressive numbers, and the footfalls have seen a surge show after show, meaning the word-of-mouth has come into play. If the same momentum continues, a huge weekend is expected. Saripodha Sanivaaram features Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead and S. J. Suryah as the antagonist.

Prabhas Will Handle All The Losses!

People Media Factory, a notable production house of Telugu cinema, is having a tough phase with continuous setbacks. Beginning with Ravi Teja’s Eagle (2024), followed by Sharwanand’s Maname (2024), and, of course, the most recent Mr. Bachchan (2024) have emerged as disasters at the box-office.

Speaking at a recent media interaction, T. G. Vishwa Prasad, the owner of the production house, stated that their next venture, Sree Vishnu’s Swag, will be a sure-shot blockbuster. He went on to say that ‘The Raja Saab’, that is slated for a release in April 2025, will compensate for the entire losses.

Written and directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab is a horror comedy starring Prabhas and Malavika Mohanan in the lead roles. Thaman has been roped to compose the tunes, while Nidhi Agarwal will play a crucial role in the film.

Stree 2 Surpasses KGF 2 (Hindi) Collections!

Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 is a box-office phenomenon, to say the least. Following an excellent first weekend, the horror comedy performed exceedingly well on weekdays before minting a double-digit gross on the 13th day.

Till date, the Rajkumar Rao-starrer has collected a nett of INR 442 crore in India, surpassing the legendary KGF: Chapter 2 that stands at an impressive INR 435 crore nett. From here on, it’s a cake walk for the film to get past the INR 500 crore India nett.

However, the million-dollar question of whether Stree 2 can surpass the industry hit Jawan’s INR 593 crore remains to be seen. Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan have appeared in cameo roles. It is directed by Amar Kaushik, who also worked on the first installment.

Vijay’s GOAT – Million Dollar Pre-Bookings!

‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s sci-fi drama ‘The Greatest Of All Time’ is off to a thunderous start at the overseas box office in terms of advance bookings. Seven days away from the theatrical release, the film’s day 1 (with premieres) has already gone past $1 million.

This is a huge achievement for any Tamil film till date. Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, its overseas distribution rights are valued at INR 53 crore. Considering the booking figures till now, the film is expected to mint over $6 million on its first day itself.

However, to breakeven, this Vijay-starrer must post a gross of $ 15 million. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the film’s music, which also features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Malavika Sharma, and Prabhudeva. It is slated for a grand worldwide release on September 5, 2024.

Legal troubles for Indian 2

Indian 2, recent directorial of Shankar has ended up becoming a big disaster at the box office. The film received big negative talk on the opening day itself and failed miserably. The film made its OTT arrival as well recently on Netflix and evoked great trolling on social media platforms as well. Now, some more legal troubles are engripping Indian 2.

Any film needs to arrive on the OTT platform in Hindi Version only after 8 weeks of the theatrical release. But Indian 2’s Hindi version has arrived on the OTT after 4 weeks of the release of the film. This goes against the stipulated rules set by the Multiplexes Association of India (MAI). Now this body is gearing up to issue legal notice to the producers of the film. This added as a new headache to the Indian 2 makers, Lyca Productions.

The film became one of the biggest disasters of Kollywood. Now, it needs to be seen how the makers and Director Shankar try to solve the issue. Shankar also has one more film for release i.e., Game Changer starring Ram Charan. He must also make sure that there are no issues for Game Changer’s release in Hindi market.

Tollywood Director, Rajamouli has directed many blockbuster and continues as the top director unanimously. But the director unforunately faces a curse in the industry circles that any Actor would face a big failure after working with him. This happened to everyone who acted in his film in the lead role. Recently, Actor Ram Charan too bit the dust with his Acharya which released after blockbuster RRR. Now one more actor, NTR from RRR is gearing up with his Devara. But from the buzz in the Industry, it is believed that Devara would be ending this Rajamouli’s curse.

Devara is carrying huge positive reports with the content released till now from the film. The Director of the film, Koratala Shiva experienced a big set back with Acharya. But now he looks like coming strong with Devara. The third single of the films is expected to come out soon. The team of Devara is also planning to release the trailer. If this works, then the film will have a massive pre-release business.

If Devara acquries positive response after the release then only sky will be the limit for the film’s performance. There are no films scheduled for release on and around 27th September. This will be a big advantage for Devara to take big opening and weekend performance as well. Rajamouli will be the first person to become happy if this happens. He will be relieved from this curse as well.

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Coolie is getting bigger with the incoming of many actors. Now, the latest addition to this list is Manjummel Boys Actor, Soubin Shahir. His involvement has been officially confirmed by the film’s director, Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Director posted a tweet with a poster of the Actor on his official X/Twitter account.

The Actor rose to fame with his performance in Manjummel Boys this year. The film became the biggest blockbuster in Malayalam Film Industry by grossing more than 200 crores worldwide. Now, this will be his official Tamil Debut. Recently another Kannada Actor Upendra also officially confirmed his involvement in the film. With the presence of all these Actors, Coolie will definitely have a big hype across the South Indian languages.

Coolie also stars Shruthi Haasan in the female lead role. Anirudh Ravichander acts as the music director of the film. The film is also expected to be a part of the LCU, Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The Director experienced a setback previously with his Leo starring Vijay. The film didn’t get the needed result at the box office. The Director is aiming big to comeback strong with Coolie. First disappointment for SJ Suryah with Raayan

SJ Suryah is an director turned actor from Kollywood. However, his popularity is not just limited to Kollywood since he directed few Telugu films and enjoys fame here as well. He rose to fame with many critically acclaimed performances in the most of the films he acted. So much so that he gained an on par praise with the lead actor in every film. But SJ Suryah experienced a first disappointment with the recently released Raayan.

As said, SJ Suryah gained appreciation for his performance in almost every film he did. But this didn’t happen with Raayan. No one appreciated or recognised his performance in the film. All the fame went to Dhanush and A.R. Rahman. Interestingly, Sundeep Kishan who played a role in the film too witnessed great praise. But SJ Suryah was not considered by anyone. Even after Raayan’s OTT release, SJ Suryah or his role was not at all talked about on social media platforms.

This may happen because of SJ Suryah’s monotonous antagonist roles as well. But it can be seen that his role had no importance in Raayan mostly. We have to see how he comes back with his future films. His current film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram co-starring Nani released today. Let’s see if it provides him any relief.
