Yes, a two-day schedule featuring S. J. Suryah, Naveen Chandra, and Srikanth has begun in Siricialla, Telangana. Besides this, the film is expected to have some reshoots very soon. Of course, no official confirmation has been out.

Saripodha Sanivaaram – Strong Collections Despite Rains!

‘Natural Star’ Nani’s vigilante thriller Saripodha Sanivaaram (2024) has hit the screens last Thursday to positive reviews from critics and audiences. And expectedly, it performed well on its first day, collecting an estimated gross of INR 20 crore.

Of course the heavy rains in Telugu states have played a spoilsport, but in spite of that, the Vivek Athreya-directorial has managed to pull audiences to theaters. Overall, Saripodha Sanivaaram has minted a worldwide share of INR 24.55 crore, with a staggering INR 7.5 crore from overseas alone.

The Sunday’s advance bookings look impressive, and considering the Vinayaka Chavithi weekend ahead, the film is expected to perform well in its second week too. Saripodha Sanivaaram also features Priyanka Arul Mohan and S. J. Suryah in crucial roles.

It was already stated that the Siva-directed film ‘Kanguva’ starring Suriya would be released on October 10. With Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’, directed by TJ Gnanavel, also set for an October 10th release, there is speculation that Suriya’s film will be postponed to a later date.

Suriya has officially stated that Rajinikanth is the identity of Tamil cinema. We will choose a different day out of respect because the film #Vettaiyan is set to release on October 10th. Fans should understand and support us as always. However, it is believed that the movie team is taking a significant risk with regard to the next release date.

Kanguva is set against a historical setting, combining the present day and 500-year-old narratives. Suriya is slated to show off his versatility in this ambitious high-budget production, which will also star Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natty, Kovai Sarala, and Yogi Babu.

While there has been no official confirmation, sources suggest that the ‘Kanguva’ release date could be pushed back to mid-November 2024. Generally, November is a dry month for movie releases. With no holiday or festival advantage, publishing a big-budget film like Kanguva is a high-risk endeavor.

There is considerable competition for the forthcoming 2025 Sankranthi; hence, the film cannot be pushed to a Sankranthi release. So the Diwali release may be advantageous for the film’s release. However, we must wait to see what the film’s production crew feels about this.
