Kanguva: A Letdown on OTT Too

Kanguva is a letdown on OTT too. The big-budget film of Suriya, Kanguva was released in theaters worldwide on November 14, 2024, and opened to a miserable response from everyone. The film was censored with a runtime of 153 minutes, but because of the negative feedback from audiences, it was trimmed by 12 minutes. The same trimmed version is now streaming on Prime Video with a run time of 141 Minutes.

However, Kanguva is a letdown on OTT too. The film continued the bad reception from the theatrical release to the OTT release as well. Currently, Kanguva is streamin in all languages on Prime Video. The makers and a few fans of Suriya expected that it will get a better response after its OTT arrival.

Surprisingly, the people who have watched Kanguva on OTT are giving more bad responses than the theatrical release. The people are saying it’s unable to watch the film on OTT too and they are shocked by the fact that how the entire team and Suriya were convinced by this line and theme. The movie is receiving much more backlash from OTT audiences than the theatrical audiences.

Pushpa 2 vs Baahubali 2 vs RRR analysis is out now. It is widely known that Allu Arjun’s most awaited sequel, Pushpa 2: the Rule, was released recently and is creating many records at the box office. For three days, Puhspa 2 has collected around 585 Cr gross worldwide, and when we compare it with other biggies, Baahubali has collected 510 Cr gross in three days, and RRR has collected 495 Cr gross in three days.

Pushpa 2 leads way ahead of other movies, and it has the advantage of a four-day weekend as well. With today’s collections, the movie’s gross will go over 700 Cr. So, in the three-day box office competition of Pushpa 2 vs. Baahubali 2 vs. RRR, the former leads by a good margin.

Pusha 2 looks to cross the 1500 Cr+ gross at this moment comfortably. How Hindi and South hold from tomorrow will decide whether the film will cross Baahubali 2 or not. But we can say that there are high chances for the film to beat Baahubali 2’s first worldwide release gross [1700 Cr+]. Pushpa 2’s Hindi version alone is expected to do 1000 Cr gross even though the South regions are not performing like Baahubali 2. The Hindi numbers can cover the South margin.

Pushpa 2 BGM: Sam C.S. rules

For the first time, Sukumar has collaborated with multiple music directors for the Pushpa 2 background score. Before Pushpa 2, Sukumar used to handle everything with DSP. However, due to various reasons, the team has brought in an additional three music directors for the BGM. Thaman, Ajaneesh Lokanath and Sam C.S. for the BGM work of the film. Many thought the Team would opt for Thaman’s work but Sam C.S. BGM ruled over all suprisingly.

Sam C.S. BGM was chosen for the film apart from the BGM composed by Devi Sri Prasad for various scenes. It is also said that about 80% of the film’s BGM was provided by Sam C.S. Director of the film, Sukumar is said to be impressed by the work of Sam C.S. in this regard. He was also behind Sam C.S.’s choice which can be understood.

Now, with Sam C.S.’s BGM playing a big role in the film, Sukumar may re-think about his decision of going with Devi Sri Prasad for his planned film with Ram Charan, tentatively titled, RC17. We need to see which side would Sukumar tilt.

Pushpa 2 performance in Hindi belt is no less than a direct Hindi film. The film is creating new benchmarks in the Hindi market number wise. It is also establishing new records on each passing day and tomorrow i.e., Sunday’s advance bookings are on a rampage mode. This euphoria is reported to be never seen before for any film. The Day 4 alone may contribute 100 crores for Pushpa 2 alone in India.

The booking gross looks 20% higher than the opening day currently. The 1st weekend Hindi version is set for a massive 270 crore nett figure. This is just level madness for any film in the recent times. The Hindi version in the overseas regions is also remarkable and putting solid numbers as well.

All is not well between the fans of Allu Arjun and Pawan Kalyan ever since the former Actor campaigned for his friend representing YSR Congress Party in AP. This angered the fans of Pawan Kalyan who were naturally supporting the Actor’s Janasena Party. This is now linked to Pushpa 2’s underperformance in some of the territories in AP. But, today during the success meet of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun thanked Pawan Kalyan personally for allowing the GO of high ticket prices. This sweet gesture is now seen as an end to the rift caused between the two personalities.

He mentioned Pawan Kalyan as the Deputy Chief Minister of AP and also referred to him as Kalyan Babai which he usually calls him as such. This is deemed to attract the audience from the region who didn’t turn out in large way as expected by the makers. The film is performing exceptionally well in few other languages but in Telugu States, the run has been affected due to high ticket prices as well. The team is contemplating to reduce the ticket prices from Monday as well.

It is also rumoured that Allu Arjun may even meet Actor Chiranjeevi and invite him to watch the film as well. The team has already met the Actor and seeked his blessings. Now, it might be the turn of the Actor. So, let’s wait and see.

Allu Arjun Apologized for Revathi’s Death

Allu Arjun apologized for Revathi’s Death. The most awaited sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule was released two days ago in theaters and it is on the way to become one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. The unit is happy about the success and arranged a success meet this evening (December 7) and thanked each and everyone who were a reason for the film’s success.

However, before the film’s release day, a special premier of the film resulted in an unfortunate incident. The visit of Icon Star Allu Arjun to the Sandhya theater at x roads produced an over turnaround of crowd and a woman (Revathi) died because of the stampede. Allu Arjun reacted to this issue last night by posting a video on X and he once again conveyed his sorrow for the incident.

During his speech at the Pushpa 2’s success meet, Allu Arjun apologized for Revathi’s Death. He said that he cannot bring back the person who died but will support the family and will make sure that their future is secure. Allu Arjun also said that he took a few hours’ time to react to the incident, as it was a shocking one and he stated that he is donating Rs 25 lakhs for Revathi’s family, not as a compensation but to assist them in future.

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule was released in theaters worldwide on December 5, 2024, and opened to positive reviews from audiences and critics. The film has created many records at the box office in 2 days itself and is on the way to creating many more on day 3. 

The film’s unit, including Director Sukumar and Hero Allu Arjun, arranged a blockbuster success meet to interact with the media and fans. During his speech, Allu Arjun thanked the governments of both the Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He thanked Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of AP along with Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. However, he forgot the name of Revanth Reddy, the chief minister of Telangana Chief Minister.

As Allu Allu Arjun forgot Telangana CM’s Name, there was a quick reaction from the media people who prompted him the name. He said that he did not forget the name of Telangana CM but his voice had some problem while speaking, so he started again thanking the govt of Telangana and took the name of Revanth Reddy.

Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun doing sensational numbers at Box office, For the two days the film has collected 420 Cr gross worldwide. Today performing better than yesterday in all territories. Especially Hindi version trending on a phenomenal note and Day 3 is expected to get in the range of 70 crores nett.

In Tamil Nadu, too film is picking up exceptionally well today, A double digit day. But in Kerala, which is the stronghold of Allu Arjun, the film has been performing underwhelming. But today’s performance is better than yesterday there as well. Karnataka too witnessed a good jump today. In Telugu States also the collections are a bit higher than yesterday, but the movie business needs a massive jump. Overall, the film is set to gross around 135 crores today from India. In overseas more than 4 Million is expected on Saturday. Overall 3rd day gross is expected to in the range of 170 Cr worldwide and this is all time record day 3 for any Indian film

So, for 3 days, Pushpa 2 gross will around 600 crores worldwide which is just a remarkable number. This is a sensational achievement for Allu Arjun and Pushpa 2 even with an average word of mouth generated. The movie expected to hit 1000 Cr mark within 2nd weekend or even lesser days.

Pushpa 2 which opened well on the release day grossing more than 250 crores worldwide is not performing as per the expectations in the following days. The heavily charged ticket prices is also one of the main reasons for this. Sensing this underperformance, many exhibitors changed reduced the ticket prices in respective centers. And it is now learnt that from Monday all the centers would be reducing the ticket prices to draw more audience.

In Telangana, the single screens opened at about ₹200 for Balcony and ₹140 for first class and ₹80 for the second class. Now, as per sources, Multiplexes will also be cutting the heavy prices to normal rates. It’s definitely a smart move by the Producers and exhibitors to reduce the ticket prices. This would also enhance the long run of the film which now looks doubtful with the existing heavy prices.

Pushpa 2 needs to collect nearly 250 crores for the breakeven in Telugu States alone including the GST. The film collected only 89 crores till now. This is very less for the expected run and needs huge walk-ins to produce a huge run to reach the break even mark. However, Pushpa 2 is rocking the Hindi markets unanimously everywhere. The film is also expected to gross more than 600 crores there.
