The buzz around ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ continues to grow as fans eagerly await its OTT release. Starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the film has shattered box office records, collecting over ₹1100 crore globally within just 10 days of its release. Despite its prolonged success in theaters, excitement is now shifting towards its OTT release .


According to recent sources, the south Indian versions of ‘Pushpa 2’ are slated to premiere on Netflix on January 9, 2025, with the Hindi version following in the first week of February. Puspha receives far more attention in the North than in the South. So the Hindi version of ott is likely to be late..


Theatrically, the film will maintain a four-week exclusive window for south languages and an extended eight-week run for its Hindi counterpart. These timeframes reflect the immense popularity and sustained demand for the film across different regions.


Although the makers have yet to officially confirm the OTT release dates, it’s typical for high-profile films to arrive on digital platforms around 40–50 days after their theatrical debut. Given ‘Pushpa 2’s’ phenomenal reception and enduring box office performance, this timeline seems plausible.

VD12 Teaser update on the way?

Vijay Deverakonda is currently working on his VD12 directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri under the Sithara Entertainments banner. The Actor has gone through a rustic physical transformation also being in a bald look with a thick beard for the film. Till now, only the first look poster was released with many fans and audience waiting for updates. Now, the makers have listened to this and VD12’s Teaser update is learnt to be on the way.

The teaser of VD12 is expected to arrive mostly for the New Year or during the Sankranthi season next year. The makers expect the film promotions to click well starting with the teaser since the film’s release date has already been confirmed as 28th March 2025. The teaser will certainly raise the expectations further as the film is also carrying a big hype.

Touted to be a gangster drama, VD12 also stars Bhagyashri Borse in the female lead role. So, chances of Robinhood arriving for Sankranthi are also very less only now left with Republic Day or the Shivarathri seasons. There are few films lined up for these seasons as well indicating a clash. So, we have to see how the makers would deal with Robinhood. Nithiin who thought of giving a strong comeback with the film after back to back disasters must wait in disappointment.

Tollywood Actor Adivi Sesh has prepared Dacoit as his upcoming film co-starring Shruthi Haasan. The Actress first look was also released from the film which received good applause but she is in for a replacement now officially. This received mixed reactions as some praised her choice with some missing Shruthi Haasan. Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, Dacoit is directed by a newcomer Shaneil Deo. The film is slated for release in 2025. Adivi Sesh is raring to give a big sound with his Dacoit as well.

With each passing day, the film is rewriting many records with the help of a gigantic run in North India. However, Pushpa 2 box office numbers have 150 Cr difference from producers to trade circles.

While all the box office tracking sites have reported the numbers in between 1200 – 1250 Cr for 11 days, the makers posted more than 1400 Cr number for 11 days. This shows a difference of 150 – 180 Cr for 11 days.

It is quite common in industry for the producers to exaggerate the numbers, but here there is a possibility of makers announcing Pushpa 2 as the biggest grosser beating Baahubali 2 after few days. But in reality, according to trade websites Baahubali 2 is likely to sustain at no 1 position.

Based on a true story, the film will follow the journey of Kannappa, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. The film produced by Mohan Babu and directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh boasts a star cast including Mohanlal, Prabhas and Akshay Kumar. Screenplay for Kannappa has been penned by Vishnu, with Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G Nageswara Reddy and Thota Prasad credited for the story. Kannappa will be released in theatres on April 25, 2025.
