Will Pushpa 2 Hold Theatres for Sankranthi?

Will Pushpa 2 hold theatres for Sankranthi? Now this is the question that is doing rounds in the industry circles and netizens. Today, the producers of Pushpa 2 announced that they will be adding 20 minutes of runtime and will be releasing the reloaded version on 11th January.

There are two main versions of Pushpa 2: The Rule: One is Telugu and the second one is Hindi. In Hindi, certainly, the film will benefit because there are no big releases for Sankranthi and only Ram Charan’s Game Changer is getting released. So, Pushpa 2 will have a good screen count in North India.

But the film will face issues in Telugu because there are already 3 big Sankranthi releases and they need much more theatres but now with additional runtime Pushpa 2 makers can ask the buyers to hold some theatres. The buyers also need some more money to achieve breakeven. We need to wait and see whether the makers of Pushpa 2 hold theatres for Sankranthi and if they do so, it will hurt the new releases’ business prospects.

Pushpa 2 became a big box office sensation grossing more than 1600 crores worldwide. The film has also ended its box office mostly in South Indian Languages with only Hindi contributing much now. The Hindi version is expected to add another 30 crores to the total. But, wait, Pushpa 2 is not done yet with the Makers planning to add the additional footage of around 20 minutes.

This was originally planned for Christmas but was not executed for various reasons. The team is now coming up with a plan to release the film in a big way again with this additional footage. The news has been confirmed officially by the makers now on social media. More details regarding the same is also expected to come out soon.

This additional footage version is set to be added to the film from 11th January to cash in on the Sankranthi season. This will also get more audience even with the competition faced from other releases. This plan really adds more numbers for the film. The film has already been announced surpassing Baahubali 2 recently by the makers.

Kamal Haasan settled Indian 3 issue

Recently, Lyca Productions issued a red card in the Tamil Film Producers Council for the release of Game Changer in Tamil Nadu. They objected to Director Shankar proceeding with Game Changer not concentrating on Indian 3. This became a controversy and an event planned by the makers in Chennai for the film was also cancelled. It is learned that Kamal Haasan has stepped over to settle the Indian 3 issue.

Both Kamal Haasan and Shankar have reportedly assured Lyca Productions of completing the leftover shoot of Indian 3. Talks have already been finished to commence the shoot in March after Kamal Haasan finishes his current trip to the USA. Shankar will also be free after the release of Game Changer slated on 10th January for Sankranthi.

Kamal Haasan is very confident of Indian 3 which he confirmed many times in the event shows of Indian 2. Shankar also expressed recently that Indian 3 would be released only in theatres. So, as both, assured their willingness, Lyca Productions is set to back off stopping the release of Game Changer promising it a smooth release in Tamil Nadu.

Kalki 2898 AD failed at Japan Box Office

Kalki 2898 AD failed at the Japan Box Office. It is widely known that Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD had a good opening (3.7K footfalls) in Japan but the film opened with negative and mixed reviews.

Because of this, the film saw a drop in footfalls for the weekend shows. If we compare the first weekend numbers, Kalki’s collections are under Saaho and Salaar, and they are nowhere near to RRR. This means Kalki 2898 AD failed at the Japan Box Office.

At this pace, Kalki is likely not to post any bigger numbers in Japan. Until now, only RRR has worked very well in Japan, and Kalki was expected to see some good numbers but it did not meet the expectations. Now, we need to wait and see which Telugu biggie will crack the Japanese market in the coming months.

Coolie nears completion of shoot

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s collaborative film, Coolie is nearing the completion of its shoot. The film has an ensemble cast of Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruthi Haasan playing pivotal roles adding excitement to the fans and audience. Rajinikanth has officially confirmed that 70% of the shoot has been finished and the next schedule is set to start in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Bangkok schedule is planned from 13th to 28th January with Lokesh Kanagaraj planning to wrap up the entire shoot by the end of February. The Makers are also eyeing to release the film on 1st May as a Summer outing. If all goes well, then the film will find no issue in releasing as per the plan.

There are huge expectations for the film and this is also the biggest film coming from Kollywood in recent times. The film also has a high chance of grossing more than 100 crores in the Hindi version if the film comes out very well. Aamir Khan’s cameo appearance will attract Hindi Audience in a big way.

Nayanthara’s team shuts down Chandramukhi NOC rumours

Nayanthara’s documentary on Netflix Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale is being surrounded many controversies. Firstly, Actor Dhanush filed a complaint against Nayanthara for using few of the video clips of her film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan produced by him. Now, recently, another rumour surfaced that the makers of Chandramukhi too filed a complaint against her. But, Nayanthara’s team has shut down these rumours now.

It was circulated on social media that the makers of Chandramukhi too took objection to Nayanthara using few video clips from the film. There were also rumours that they had claimed 5 crores as compensation for this but they have been busted now with clarification from Nayanthara’s team. The team released a NOC from the makers of Chandramukhi allowing Nayanthara to use the video clips of the film.

The letter showed the makers permitting Rowdy Pictures, production house of Nayanthara to use footage from Chandramukhi where starred opposite Rajinikanth as the female lead. With this, the rumour and the controversy has been put to rest.

Marco OTT Deal Not Signed Yet

Malayalam action thriller Marco, starring Unni Mukundan, has taken the box office by storm since its release. The film, known for its intense action sequences, is inching close to Rs 100 crore worldwide and is currently dominating the Kerala box office and is doing exceptionally well in Hindi as well.

The film is doing decent business in Telugu and was recently released in Tamil to positive reports. Marco had a theatrical release on 20th December and brought a great end to Kerala box office. Now, there are high expectations on the film’s OTT release and recently some unverified reports made rounds regarding the film hitting the small screens soon.

Amidst these rumours, Unnimukundan took to social media and clarified that no plan has been made for the film’s OTT release and requested the audience to not belive any such news. Any information regarding OTT release would be made officially and he requested the fans to trust only the official handles.

Directed by Haneef Adeni, Marco also stars  Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu S Thilakan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul and Yukti Thareja in key roles.

Game Changer BBFC Censor Report

Game Changer BBFC Censor Report is out now. Ram Charan is all set to enthrall his fans in dual roles, Appanna, and Ram Nandan IAS in his upcoming political/action drama. As the release date is nearing, the British Board of Film Classification Report of the film is doing rounds in the industry circles. 

According to the synopsis in the BBFC report, the film is about a principled government official who takes on a district’s corrupt politicians. The report indicates that the film has hard-hitting violent action, and it is combined with political intrigue.  Game Changer BBFC Censor Report is out now and it received a 12A rating. The film has a moderate amount of violent scenes.

It also has some sexual violence and threat content, but not in the range of alarming or overboard. As we saw in the trailer, there are some scenes in which there is a violent attack happening on the hero’s family, probably in the flashback.

Daaku Maharaaj Pan India Release?

Balakrishna is coming up with Daaku Maharaaj this Sankranti and the film has managed to hit the right chord with its trailer. Directed by Bobby, the film is made on a large scale, and a grand pre-release event is planned in the coming days.

Daaku Maharaaj trailer has created a massive buzz on the film and a pre-release event has been planned for 9th January at Ananthapur. The film is slated for a grand release on 12th January and now the question remains if the makers are planning for a pan-India release or not.

As per the reports, the team is in plans to release the film in Tamil and Hindi. Whether it would be a simultaneous release or will the other versions hit the screens after some days needs to be seen.

Daaku Maharaaj is definitely not a regular mass masala film from Balakrishna. Director Bobby has tried some new approach as we can see in the trailer. This may attract pan Indian audience if the release is planned properly. The film also stars Bobby Deol, Shraddha Srinath and Pragya Jaiswal among others in key roles.

Wamiqa Gabbi cast for G2

Recent Bollywood sensation, Wamiqa Gabbi has been cast for G2 co-starring Adivi Sesh. A poster was released today by the makers showing the lead pair in action. The Actress will also be making a comeback to Tollywood after nearly a decade when she made her debut here with Bhale Manchi Roju in 2015.

Wamiqa recently met the audience with her Baby John co-starring Varun Dhawan. The film was released amid big expectations but turned out to be a big flop. But the Actress surely impressed the audience with her performance and her beauty appeal. Now, she will be aiming to get a big spot in Tollywood with G2.

G2 is the official sequel to Goodachari which became a big hit in 2018. The film is currently in the shoot stage and is aiming for release this year. Adivi Sesh is also working for Dacoit which had Mrunal Thakur onboard recently.
