The story follows Mahima and her family as they’re haunted by a terrifying evil force, forcing them to turn to their relative, a powerful yogini named Mahadevi, for help. It’s all about unraveling the mystery of who Agadha is and watching Mahadevi take on the darkness.

Performances

Kamakshi Bhaskarla, who plays the lead role in the film, delivers a convincing performance and tries to bring some depth to the character. Ulka Gupta does a fine job in a crucial role, while Shravan Reddy, Jovika Vijakumar, Bhanuchander, and others are okay.

Analysis

Directed by MS Raju, Agadha had the potential to be a gripping thriller. It is not a regular thriller where spirits or ghosts trouble a person or a family. The film is filled with supernatural and mystical elements, and tries to mix drama with an eerie evil as its antagonist.

Certainly, this sounds interesting, but MS Raju could not build an intriguing screenplay around the plot. In both halves, there are some impactful and tension-building moments, but what works against the film is its inconsistency. The first half takes its time to arrive at the actual story point; till then, the film goes on a random note. Near the interval, things get interesting, and one hopes for a much better second half.

The second half reveals the backstory of Agadha, but it feels rushed and lacks the clarity required to make the narrative truly compelling. The family sentiment angle is never fully explored; given the terrifying incidents the characters endure, the film needed these emotional stakes to be developed more effectively to ensure the audience remains invested in their plight.

Like Purushaha, which also worked only in parts, Agadha struggles with screenplay consistency despite having an interesting core concept. There is an interesting idea of an action sequence, which works decently, and the follow-up drama also is alright. The climax has a better impact, where the Good Vs Bad fight is shown a bit interestingly.

Star Cast and Father-Daughter Storyline

Aishwarya Rajesh is also part of the project, with reports suggesting that the story revolves around a father-daughter relationship. Nagarjuna himself is producing King 100 under Annapurna Studios, while Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music and background score.

The combination of Nagarjuna’s milestone status, Karthik’s direction and the film’s reportedly emotional family-centric storyline has made King 100 one of the more closely watched Telugu projects currently in production.

Release Plans and First Look Announcement

While the leaked fight footage has generated considerable excitement, the makers are yet to officially reveal the film’s title, first look or detailed plot. Earlier reports had suggested a Dasara 2026 release. More recent reports indicate that the team is considering a December 2026 or Sankranthi 2027 release to give the landmark project a bigger window.

A title and first-look announcement has reportedly been planned around Nagarjuna’s August 29 birthday. That too remains unconfirmed officially. With the team deliberately keeping the project under wraps, the leaked action sequence has offered fans their first tantalising glimpse of what could be a much more mass-oriented side of Nagarjuna’s 100th outing.

A recent photo of Fahadh Faasil with S.S. Rajamouli has sparked widespread speculation online, with Filmfare captioning the image as Fahadh joining Rajamouli on the sets of Varanasi. However, the latest reports indicate that the photograph is actually connected to Don’t Trouble the Trouble, Fahadh’s upcoming Telugu fantasy entertainer. Rajamouli is presenting the film, while his son S.S. Karthikeya is producing alongside Baahubali makers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni.

The Don’t Trouble the Trouble Connection

Fahadh Faasil and Rajamouli were recently spotted together on the film’s sets, adding further buzz to what is being positioned as Fahadh’s Telugu debut as a lead actor. The collaboration was announced in early 2024, bringing together the Baahubali production team with one of Malayalam cinema’s most versatile performers.

Directed by Shashank Yeleti, Don’t Trouble the Trouble features Fahadh as Suri, a street magician whose seemingly harmless magic tricks lead him into a bizarre supernatural situation. The teaser introduces a mysterious young girl who is eventually revealed to be a genie capable of granting wishes, setting up a fantasy adventure with comedy, mystery and emotion. The film also stars Ssara Palekar and Saurabh Sachdeva, with Kaala Bhairava composing the music.

Varanasi Confusion Clarified

The confusion surrounding Varanasi is understandable given Rajamouli’s involvement and the timing of the photograph. However, there is currently no credible confirmation that Fahadh has joined the cast of Varanasi. His appearance with Rajamouli appears to underline the latter’s association with Don’t Trouble the Trouble as presenter.

After the teaser generated curiosity, the makers have stepped up promotions. The first song, “Cakeu Walku,” was recently released. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 11, 2026, releasing in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

For Fahadh, who has already built a strong Telugu following through the Pushpa films, the project marks an intriguing transition from acclaimed supporting and antagonist roles in Telugu cinema to a full-fledged Telugu lead.
