Netflix vs Dhanush: Court Rejects Petition

0

The legal battle between Dhanush and Nayanthara has captured widespread attention, sparked by Netflix’s documentary on the actress. The controversy began when Dhanush, who produced Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, refused to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for using clips from the film in the documentary. Despite this, a few seconds of footage from the movie were included without his approval, leading him to take legal action. Dhanush has filed a case against Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, accusing them of unauthorized use of content.

In response, Netflix approached the High Court, requesting the dismissal of Dhanush’s petition, arguing that his claims lacked merit. However, the court rejected Netflix’s plea, allowing the case to proceed. The next hearing is set for February 5, keeping fans and industry insiders on edge as the dispute intensifies. Adding to the drama, Nayanthara addressed the issue in an open letter, but her statement was met with criticism from the public, further fueling the controversy.

As this case unfolds, it shines a light on the complexities of intellectual property rights in the entertainment industry, particularly with the rise of digital platforms like Netflix. Whether the two parties can find common ground remains to be seen, but all eyes are now on the upcoming hearing to see how this high-profile case will progress.

NTR’s Character in War 2

0

It is widely known that NTR will play one of the leads in WAR 2. The upcoming spy action drama from the Yash Raj Films banner has already gathered massive buzz because of the interesting combination of Tarak and Hrithik Roshan. Lately, an interesting report about NTR’s Character in War 2 has been doing rounds in industry circles.

Reportedly, NTR’s character will have a strong arc—starting as a positive figure who fought for the country/system but later turned against it. Such characters will strike a chord with audiences if they have the perfect writing. The story of War 2 might be similar to the earlier films in the YRF Spy Verse, but the difference is the way the makers handled the part of the Devara actor.

There is said to be a strong backstory for NTR’s character War 2. The films in Spy Universe are known for excellent action sequences, but Ayan Mukerji’s film will also have an emotional touch to the action parts. There is also a buzz that after War 2, a standalone film about NTR’s flashback is being planned.

War 2 is the 6th movie of the YRF Spy Universe and is all set for release on August 14, 2025. The other characters from previous films like War, and Pathaan will make cameos in the backstory/flashback portions in WAR 2.

Director Bobby who achieved a big success with Waltair Veerayya for the 2023 Sankranthi season couldn’t repeat the blockbuster performance now. However, Daaku Maharaaj will be a comfortable hit for all the parties involved.

The film is also the 4th consecutive hit for Balakrishna. The Actor is currently working for Akhanda 2. The film’s shoot has also commenced and is currently happening. There are high expectations on the film due to the combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu.

Coolie Gears Up for a Diwali Release

0

Coolie, directed by young star director Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, is one of the most hyped projects of Kollywood in the coming days. The film was rumored to have a grand theatrical release on the 2025 Independence Day Weekend, but the latest news is that Coolie gears up for a Diwali release.

The Release Date Shuffles for Coolie

Rajinikanth’s Coolie was initially planned for a May release but to take time for the post-production works, the team moved the release plan to Independence Day weekend. However, recently Thalapathy Vijay’s 69th film, Jana Nayagan which was planned for Diwali release is said to be moving to Pongal 2026 release. Now hearing this news, Coolie gears up for a Diwali release.

The makers of Coolie are said to be planning for a Diwali release. Because, if they release the film on Independence Day weekend the movie has to face stiff competition from all languages. Hrithik Roshan – NTR’s War 2, and other Bollywood films will be released during the August 15th weekend. So, Coolie, which is a pan-India film needs a solo biggie release.

Huge Hopes on Rajini’s Next Two Films

Also, Diwali (Deepavali Festival) is a big festival in Tamil, so the team is thinking that this season would be the perfect release date for them. Rajinikanth has two big films in his hands now, one is Jailer 2 with Nelson, and another one is Coolie with Lokesh. Coolie will be the first one to release in theaters and everyone is expecting it to be the first 1000 Cr grosser for Tamil Cinema.

Sankranthiki Vasthunam matches Baahubali and Hanuman

0

Baahubali and Baahubali 2 were the only Telugu films to have made a 100 crore theatrical profit until Hanuman. Firstly, both these films Theatrical business was 85 crores and 180 crores respectively. Baahubali Telugu version collected nearly 185 crore share and Baahubali 2 made nearly 300 crore share respectively shocking all. Now, the recently released Sankranthiki Vasthunam has equalled Baahubali and Hanuman in this aspect.

After Baahubali and Baahubali 2, Hanuman was released last year for Sankranthi joined this club collecting a share of 130 crores against the theatrical business of around 25 crores. Now, Sankranthiki Vasthunam will be joining this club soon crossing the 140 crores share mark against a theatrical business of around 50 crores. The remaining 10 crores will also be coming to the film in the later weekends.

This way, Sankranthi Vasthunam is very well on its course to join the list of these films, collecting more than a profit of 100 crore share. No one had a clue of watching Sankranthi Vasthunam pulling off this feat, especially the team, which is still in a surprise.

Thandel Trailer: A glimpse of a Memorable Journey

0

Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel has created a very good buzz with its songs and teaser. Not only the fans of Chaithu, but even the other audiences were also excited to see what was in store for them in the world of this movie. The most awaited Thandel’s trailer is out now, and it is a glimpse of a memorable journey of Raju and Satya.

Chaithu plays the role of Raju aka Thandel, the leader of a fisherman group, and Sai Pallavi plays the character of Satya, the love interest of Raju. The trailer shows the love moments between the leads very beautifully. The conversations are lighthearted, yet they also have an emotional touch here and there. The dialogues of Hero with Pakistan people/soldiers appear a bit odd.

But those kinds of dialogues have a good impact in the actual film scene, where we are aware of the situation. Overall, the trailer mixes all the elements in the film very well. The film promises an emotional journey of Raju and Thandel’s trailer shows a glimpse of his memorable journey with his lover and an unexpected hostage situation as well.

The Trailer of Thandel Movie

Both Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi got the dialect very well, and especially, Sai Pallavi, who is becoming a trademark actress for such emotional and lovable roles, seems to have cracked another amazing performance in the character of Satya. Director Chandoo Mondeti also showed some heroic shots of Naga Chaitanya which will enthrall his fans for sure. DSP’s Music/BGM is another asset.

Balakrishna in HIT Franchise?

0

HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) Franchise is one of the most successful franchises in Telugu Cinema. Produced by Nani, and Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, two parts of this universe have become good hits at the box office. Now in an interesting turn, the inside industry reports suggest that Balakrishna is all set to enter the HIT Franchise.

As said above, HIT Universe’s first and second parts succeeded at the box office. Now the 3rd part’s shooting is happening in which Natural Star Nani is playing the lead and Srinidhi Shetty is the lead actress. The film was announced for May 1st release. If we go back to the climax of HIT 2, the team revealed a link to HIT 3 with Nani making a cameo.

Now the same kind of ending will be there in HIT 3 also, where there will be a link to the next part’s hero in the climax and the news is that Balakrishna is in discussions to play that character. HIT is a series of angry young men or aggressive police officers, So, definitely it will suit Balakrishna and it will also raise the craze of the franchise if the Akhanda actor takes part in it.

However, a few fans of Balayya are already worried about this news, as they feel that Sailesh Kolanu failed to show Venkatesh in an action avatar with Saindhav, and the film became a big disaster at the box office. However, every film cannot be the same as the previous one, and if Sailesh proves his mettle with HIT 3, then there will be more hype for his next film.

NTRNeel to kick start in February

0

NTR and Director Prashanth Neel collaborated long ago for their film, tentatively titled, NTRNeel. The film didn’t go to sets with the duo getting busy with their ongoing commitments. The shoot of the film is also expected to start last year in September or October but was delayed for various reasons. The good news for the fans and audience is that NTRNeel will kick start in February this year.

The film was also announced as a Sankranthi release in 2026 but it needs to be seen whether the team can pull off the shoot before this date. NTR’s other Bollywood biggie, War 2 co-starring Hrithik Roshan has already been announced for this Year’s Independence weekend. So, NTR must work hard after this film to meet the deadline for NTRNeel.

Prashanth Neel on the other hand is also busy with his Salaar 2 plans. So, the duo coming together will surely be a big joy for the fans and audience. The film likewise will be made on a large scale budget as a Pan India biggie. He saw a big blockbuster with Devara last year grossing nearly 500 crores worldwide. The target for NTRNeel will be set even higher with this.

Pushpa 2 Falls Just Short of Baahubali 2

0

Pushpa 2, the massive pan-Indian blockbuster starring Allu Arjun, and directed by Sukumar, has created many records at the box office. However, the film failed to beat a big record which was awaited by many. The trade circles have been astonished by Pushpa 2: The Rule’s long run at the box office, but Pushpa 2 falls just short of Baahubali 2.

Pushpa 2 could not break the mighty Baahubali Number

Baahubali 2 collected 1700 Cr Gross worldwide in its first release, and later with China release it went to 1800 Cr range. But if we consider the first release or Indian languages release numbers, Baahubali 2 will be the record holder, and everyone expected that Pushpa 2 will break this. However, Pushpa 2 falls just short of Baahubali 2.

Can Pushparaj show his magic in China/Japan Etc.?

Pushpa 2 almost concluded its box office run and it came very close to Baahubali 2 with 1665 Cr gross worldwide. Pushpa 2 performed well in all languages excluding Malayalam, If the Malayalam version had worked well, then definitely Pushpa 2: The Rule could have broken Baahubali 2’s record.

The makers of Pushpa Two will certainly plan to release the film in other languages, and we need to see next how it performs in international languages. Meanwhile, the film is arriving on Netflix on 30 January in all South Indian languages.

Early Premiers For Good Bad Ugly

0

This year Ajith will be coming up with 2 major releases. The first is Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly while the second one is Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi. Interestingly, both these movies will star Trisha opposite Ajith. The Kollywood star had no releases in 2024 hence there is massive anticipation among his fans for these two releases.

While the films are set for a grand release worldwide, the recent decision by the Tamil Nadu government to ban all early morning shows might deter Ajith fans from celebrating grandly. Since there are no early morning shows in Tamil Nadu for Tamil films, the local audience is the last one to experience their films. The other states, in contrast, have early shows while overseas markets will have premieres.

But there seems to be a silver lining for Ajith fans. Mythri Movie Makers, who are producing this project are planning premiere shows on the previous night of release in Tamil Nadu and other states. This will be a good strategy and the Tamil Nadu audience will become the first ones to watch it. Good Bad Ugly carrying a massive craze in Tamil Nadu and the release posters themselves have added a huge buzz.

Good Bad Ugly is releasing on 10th April and If this strategy works out then we will see more Tamil films adopting this strategy.
