Thriller Film Identity is now streaming on OTT
Identity is the latest action thriller from Malayalam Cinema. It features Tovino Thomas, Trisha Krishnan, and Vinay Rai in the lead roles. The film was released four weeks ago in theaters, but despite getting good reviews, it failed to perform well at the box office. Identity is now streaming on OTT.
Directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, the film’s Telugu version hit theaters last week, and it went unnoticed. The popular digital platform, ZEE5 officially confirmed that Identity will be available for streaming from January 31, 2025. Identity is now streaming on OTT, which is available in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada, and the theatrical-to-OTT gap is less than a month.
The movie also stars Mandira Bedi, Shammy Thilakan, Aju Varghese, Arjun Radhakrishnan, and Archana Kavi in significant roles. Produced by Century Films and Ragam Movies, Identity’s background music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.
Parasakthi Title issues sorted
Recently two Tamil films went into a tussle over the same title: Parasakthi. One was directed by Sudha Kongara starring Siva Karthikeyan in the lead role and the other starring Vijay Antony in the lead role directed by Arun Prabhu. Both claimed the right to the title and this led to confusion. But, now these issues have been sorted out and Siva Karthikeyan’s film retained the title officially.
Vijay Antony seems to have backed off in this aspect renaming his film as Shakthi Thirumagan. However, his film will retain the title in Hindi and Malayalam languages with no confirmation as of now for Telugu version.
This is indeed a good move from Vijay Antony for harmony within the film Industry. Meanwhile, Siva Karthikeyan’s Parasakthi Teaser received tremendous response with praise for the direction and the roles played by the lead cast. Sudha Kongara looks to shape up one more acclaimed film like her previous blockbusters.
The film was originally planned with Suriya but the Actor opted out of the film for various reasons. Fans and Audience after watching the Teaser of Parasakthi felt that Suriya had really missed a golden opportunity. The film is currently being shot and aiming to release somewhere in 2025.
Mega Heroes 100 Cr Struggle
A few years ago, a 100 Cr share was a big benchmark in Telugu Cinema. But the market has expanded post-COVID-19 and ticket prices also continuously increased, now most big films are collecting 100 Cr within the first week, and some big pan India films are even collecting 100 Cr share in 2-3 days itself in the Telugu version. However, the trade is worried seeing the Mega Heroes 100 Cr struggle.
Mega Trio’s Struggle to reach the 100 Crore Milestone
In the last 5 years from 2020 to till date, only a few films of tier-1 heroes failed to collect 100 Cr. In 8 films One is Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam and all the other 7 are films from Mega Family. Even a normal audience would be surprised if he knew the Mega Heroes 100 Cr struggle.
Few films like Bheemla Nayak, and Vakeel Saab were affected by Corona and ticket prices, and elsewhere they could have joined the 100 Cr club easily. The most shocking is Game Changer, the recent big film starring Ram Charan did not cross 100 Cr and finished just around 85 Cr share in Telugu.
A big-budget film like Game Changer should have collected 100 Cr in 3-4 days irrespective of any talk but shockingly, the film failed to meet the expectations at the box office. Even the day-one numbers of the film were not that great. The fans are hoping that Charan will make a massive comeback with RC 16, directed by Buchi Babu.
Most likely from now all big star films are likely to cross 100 Cr share very easily, and coming to mega heroes, Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara has a good chance to gather 100 crores at the box office in the first week as it is a socio-fantasy genre, while release dates of Pawan Kalyan’s films are not guessable right now, because of his political commitments.
Squid Game 3 Streaming Details Are Out
Netflix announced today that season 3 of Squid Game, which will also be the show’s last season, will be available for streaming on June 27th. The OTT viewers are delighted as Squid Game 3 Streaming details are out. The fans have waited around six months after the long-awaited season 2 premiered on Netflix on December 26th of last year.
Squid Game 2 somehow failed to connect with viewers as big as the first season, but it saw massive viewership due to the craze of the franchise, becoming the biggest series on Netflix. Nithin’s Thammudu Postponed
Hero Nithin is waiting for his upcoming film, Robinhood to release at the end. Along with this film, the actor also worked on another film called Thammudu. Produced by Dil Raju, the film was said to be released during the Shivaratri weekend. But the latest reports suggest that Nithin’s Thammudu has been postponed.
The film has completed a major part of shooting, but there are said to be some balance portions remaining along with post-production works. The film is likely to move to May/June release as the film needs to maintain some decent gap with Robinhood, which is scheduled for March end release. The fans will be disappointed to know that Nithin’s Thammudu has been postponed.
Nithin delivered a series of failures continuously and these two films are very crucial for him. Thammudu is directed by Venu Sriram of ‘Vakeel Saab’ fame and features music by Ajaneesh Loknath. Sapthami Gowda of “Kantara” fame will appear as the female lead in this film.
Thammudu is said to be an emotional thriller based on brother/sister sentiment and actress Laya plays Nithin’s sister in this movie. The film is carrying good reports from the industry circles and will certainly achieve success at the box office.
Corporate Bookings Soar in Hindi Belts This Year
Corporate bookings have been happening for a long time in Hindi belts. With the advent of pan-India films, even our Tollywood filmmakers are also getting involved in corporate bookings. This has attracted criticism from our industry people and trade circles.
Year by year Industry’s markets will expand and this is a normal trend. But in Hindi belts, year by year corporate bookings going to a new level. In 2024, this surpassed all previous trends and saw an exponential rise.
The Hindi trade circles reported that almost 30% to 50% are corporate bookings were done for the year’s films. Now, in 2025, films like Game Changer and Sky Force are facing heavy criticism from Bollywood and South Trade for taking this to never-seen-before levels.
Many are questioning what someone will achieve by showcasing these exaggerated numbers. These are of no use for the makers who have poured in crores for the movies. Some steps must taken in Bollywood to stop this.
Copy allegation against Nani’s Hi Nanna
Tollywood Actor Nani’s film Hi Nanna became a decent hit, also bringing in good acclaim on the OTT platform. Now, the film is accused of being copied from a Kannada film, Bheemasena Nalamaharaja. The Producer of the film lambasted the team for remaking the film without acquiring the proper rights. This is now going viral on social media platforms.
The Producer claimed that Hi Nanna resembled his film in many scenes and also put up a story on his official Instagram account tagging Nani. He also compared this as a cheap thing from Nani and opined that Hi Nanna was made without taking remake rights.
This really came as a shocker for many as it is said that the concept dealt with in the Kannada film has resemblance with Hi Nanna. And then it is also argued that the story is different for both films. This Kannada film premiered directly on Amazon Prime Video in 2020 featuring Aravinnd Iyer, Aarohi Narayan, and Priyanka Thimmesh whereas Hi Nanna released in 2023.
So, it now needs to be seen how the makers would respond to these allegations by the Producer. The team must come up with a reasonable response for sure.
OTT issues for Vijay’s Jana Nayagan
Kollywood Actor Vijay surprised everyone recently with the first look of his film, Jana Nayagan. The title and the first look drew mixed reactions from both the fans and the audience. The film’s shoot was expected to complete by this Summer, and the release date was also initially fixed for Dussehra or Diwali this year. But, there is a delay in the shoot, which is also causing OTT issues for the film.
The film’s new release date is currently speculated to be for Sankranthi season next year. The makers are yet to fix their streaming partner. The quoted amount by the makers is also not feasible for the platforms. It is said that Netflix has already locked its films for the year 2025 and cannot afford price for this year. The high remuneration and big budget for the film are the main reason for this.
It is also believed that if the film’s release date is fixed for 2026, then the OTT platform is ready to acquire it for a huge price. The makers are also exploring the options with the other OTT platforms which may not okay the quoted amount by them. So, it is likely that the film will be bought by Netflix and the release will also be mostly for Sankranthi next year..
Anirudh composing Chiranjeevi’s film?
Tollywood Actor Chiranjeevi joined hands with Director Srikanth Odela, fame of Dasara. The combo and the announcement created a ripple on social media as well. The duo joined hands filled with blood, and this caused a great amount of excitement for fans and the audience. Now, it is learnt that Music Director Anirudh Ravichander is in talks for this film.
The film is also produced by Nani, who acted in the lead role of Dasara. Chiranjeevi, on the other hand, is currently working on his Vishwambhara and will soon join the planned film directed by Anil Ravipudi. Meanwhile Srikanth Odela, too, would work for his film starring Nani. Srikanth Odela and Chiranjeevi will finish these commitments this year to take their film on floors later.
This may happen at the end of this year or early 2026. So, Anirudh coming onboard the film is truly an exciting update for the fans and Audience.
